Bottle: LOTE DATE 71/24 290124 Appearance: Mustard yellow Nose: Cooked agave, toasted oak, brown sugar, orange peel, molasses, butter, minerality, cinnamon, earth, leather, barrel spice, licorice, chocolate, brine/salinity, black pepper, dried fruit, coffee, rosemary, and campfire smoke…complex and balanced Palate: Cooked agave, toasted oak, vanilla, caramel, licorice, molasses, leather, cocoa, orange peel, black pepper, barrel spice, butter, earth, cinnamon, allspice, clove, toffee, wood shavings, charcoal, and whiskey…sweet and woodsy Finish: Toasted oak, leather, vanilla, cinnamon, maraschino cherry, and nutmeg…a mix of Manhattan and Old fashioned Overall: This has everything a good añejo should. The agave is there while the barrel complements, enhances, and brings all of the different profiles together. There’s sweet, savory, bitter, earthy, fruity, and spiced notes that combine together in a way that just makes sense. It’s easy to drink, priced reasonably, and available everywhere…a real all-around winner.
Nice nose of agave and milk chocolate. Carmel and vanilla. Taste is agave forward followed by pepper, vanilla and caramel. A touch of banana on the tongue. Clean finish with medium viscosity. Another good tequila from 7 Leguas.
A very well balanced anejo with plenty of cook agave present. An overall great anejo at a great price point. Nose: cooked agave, oak, vanilla, caramel, butterscotch, black pepper, citrus, cinnamon, whiskey, and some earth. Palate: the nose carried over to the palate with the cooked agave come through with oak, vanilla, caramel, butterscotch, black pepper, citrus, cinnamon, whiskey, and earth. Such a great anejo with a medium to long finish and great balance. This one does not disappoint.
Nose: sweet agave / vanilla ! / caramel/ butter / banana/ grapefruit/ mint / tea / nutmeg/ butterscotch/ chocolate/ Taste: sweet agave / vanilla / pepper / earth/ caramel/ banana/ lime/ tea / nutmeg / butterscotch/ Finish: very low viscosity / nice quick clean finish with some lingering vanilla / very smooth This anejo is so good for the money!! It’s good vs. much higher cost anejos. The agave is a big taste note and stands out over the barrel notes, but it’s all there and working harmoniously. Very smooth and drinkable every day.
I get notes of sandalwood mild Carmel oak and minerals. vague hint of root beer black pepper and anise. Very easy to drink and an extremely smooth finish.
Nose: Agave, earth, vanilla, lemon and honey with clear backend of pepper and minerals. Flavor: Delightfully sweet lemon vanilla with a touch of oak, pepper, grapes and honey I blinded Siete Anejo against Ocho and Tapatio Anejo and Siete was the clear winner This is my absolute favorite tequila as it relates to the delicious quality combined with value for money and availability
Nose: Oak, mint, honey, cinnamon, alcohol, cooked agave, vanilla and cardamom Palate: Alcohol, oak, and some vanilla. Under impressed Finish Pepper, little heat with a nice linger
Agave, oak, vanilla, and grapefruit. Nice price point. Excellent Añejo.
Relatively light color for anejo. Nice legs. Great clarity. Nose is subdued, which I like in anejo and XA. I get an interesting grilled pineapple smell on this + cinnamon + soil. Much more citrus forward and less oaky than I expected. Tastes of light wood, lemongrass, black pepper. Not vanilla at all for me. Not super complex. Really light barrel hand on this. Modestly long finish that doesn’t change much, but is very pleasant indeed. I’m a fan. This is a blanco drinker’s anejo.
Nice agave on the nose. I agree, the repo is better. Little bitterness on the finish but overall not bad
Aroma: sweet agave, oak, butterscotch. Stewed or dried fruit… orange rind. A little vanilla, cinnamon and baked bread. Tobacco? Flavor: nice agave mixed with oak, cinnamon and vanilla. There’s a pop to it and spiciness that I like from this brand. It’s fruity to me but cooked fruit. Carmel. Deeper and richer flavor. Dried charry and plums maybe. Finish: long and tingly. I get a little bit of wet grass toward the end which is really interesting. Overall: this is an outstanding tequila. Lite and well balanced. It’s got some subtle complexity to it- if that’s a thing- and it all works really well together. Some agave, some fruit, some baking spice. I’d pay happy pay double the price for this añejo. It’s a steal. This brand always over delivers.
It’s a great Añejo. Not a lot of barrel influence who’s is great! The price is also amazing! Nice Añejo choice.
Aroma: Sweet cooked agave, an interesting funky note. Followed by caramel and vanilla. Very earthy and somewhat floral, that’s the only way I can describe. Sweet, earthy, and floral. Palate: Heavy on the agave, and spice. Absolutely some Cinnamon and the barest hint of toasted walnut or pecan. Definitely earthy, and oaky, though not overpowering. Very complex, nice balanced sweetness. Verdict: An absolute stunner imo, this will be on regular rotation. It’s a very agave forward and full bodied añejo that lets the agave shine. This might just be the perfect agave lovers standard añejo. It’s complex without being over the top, just good agave, good tequila, good barrels, and a good amount of time resting. Wonderful tequila, I strongly recommend this to be in your collection. Absolutely stellar tequila.
Love the whole Siete Leguas line what an amazing tequila. I started drinking this tequila at dinning table with my mother-in-law and we almost finished the bottle. It is so easy to drink.
The aromas initially hit with strong notes of sweet cinnamon cooked agave, layered with brown sugar, oak, and some hints of anise in the depths. On the palate, flavors of muted agave, light caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon, with a watery consistency, and some elements of orange citrus. A sugary lingering sweetness on the finish, with some agave and anise, short and slightly off.
Nice anejo. Aroma- cinnamon, agave, clove , little vanilla. Taste- agave, little oak and loads of pepper. Nice anejo that’s not overly Oaked
Re visited this Anejo about 12 months later. Very different profile than my first tasting. Nose- caramel, raisins agave Aroma- buttery notes, raisins, cooked agave Finish- agave, caramel and great mouth feel
An extension of their repo, slight more wood notes, balanced and enjoyable
Lighter amber color than expected for an añejo. Aroma of cooked agave, vanilla and oak. Flavor of cooked agave, vanilla, oak and a hint of black pepper. Pleasant medium finish.
Tasted at Don Quinta Jose. The reposado is one of my favorites and this Añejo could be one too! Aroma is sweet with caramel and is the beat part. Taste is solid with lots of agave left. The finish is ok. Not long lasting. It reminds me of my favorite Fortaleza Añejo.
Solid overall, and great value for the price.
A great anejo at a great price. Everything you would want in an anejo: cooked agave, cinnamon, buttery nose with some citrus in background. Those aromas continue through on the flavor with butterscotch, vanilla and caramel. Orange peel, chocolate, fresh pineapple (aftertaste, not initial bite), banana and some oak enter in gradually. Retrohale (retrotaste) allows flavor to develop on the medium to semi long finish
The nose is whiskey and oak, cooked agave sweetness, earthy, honey, pepper and spice. Vanilla with a pinch of butterscotch, caramel, pepper, vegative, with fruit and smoke and a hint of nuts and cinnamon along with some burnt caramel. The taste is smooth and silky, creamy and buttery, honey, vegetal, spice, light caramel, brine and light vanilla, along with some light fruit and some heat on the back end. The finish is spicy and okie, would vanella notes, peppery, slight alcohol tangle and some light brine, ending in a medium to long laid finish. This is truly a clean, complete and traditional anejo.
Aroma : Cooked agave and oak predominate. There is also some fruity, rasberry notes here, and some vanilla as well. Taste : A small amount of cooked agave here. Some oak and a small degree of vanilla. There is also a cashew/almond nuttiness as well. Some oils and medium/full bodied. Slightly bitter. Finish : Medium/long finish with some emphasis on the oak and nut aspects of the taste. Fantastic Añejo. I really like the nut notes on this tequila. If only there was some fruit-like notes on the taste this would easily score in the 90+ range.
Quite simply, we never regret reaching for this bottle of agave-forward #tequila because it’s dependable and delicious.

At the Bar: 3/2025 Rating 83 The profile opens with notes of anise and oak, supported by sarsaparilla, minerality, and a thread of butterscotch. Brine and alcohol are present but don’t overwhelm, and the cooked agave’s sweet potato essence brings a grounding sweetness. Update – 6/2025 at Home: With more time and focus, the palate reveals added dimension with peppermint freshness, fleeting hints of red apple, and a sweet banana softness rounding out the agave’s sweet potato essence core. The finish is light but satisfying, with clinging cooked agave, a saline brine note, faint salt, and a clean thread of petrichor lingering on the tongue.
