This tequila has a soft spot in our heart for two reasons: It’s made the old-fashioned way, and it contains the rare aroma of melon, which we love!
Tequilas makers that dare to be different by crafting their own unique flavor profile are the ones that have my respect and admiration. It takes guts to create something different. There are several out there, and one of them is Suerte Tequila, a relative
Alex Perez and Mike Morales review Suerte Tequila‘s Blanco, Reposado and Anejo.
Aroma: 20/25 Surprisingly tight and restricted nose. Lemon, vanilla, Carmel and butter. Not able to pick up much agave. Palate: 25/30 Bright, lemon citrus, and barrel influence. Agave comes through on the palate much more than the nose. Black pepper, vanilla. Mild mouth feel and presence. Finish: 19/25 Flavors fade after a bit but the heat lingers for much longer. Not burning, but a warming heat. Value: 8/10 $45 in San Francisco for a nice additive free tequila. Reminds me a lot of a toned down Sieta Leguas Anejo which I love. I had higher hopes for this pour. Will need to revisit
