The best of the early Corazon Expresiones line. This 2013 1st coveted release has plenty going for it and is now a sought after treasure bottle. Once it breathes and opens up, that's when it becomes a tasty treat. Great influence from it's time spent in the RVW barrel. Agave, cinnamon, slightly oaky, vanilla, nutty, nutmeg, spices... real treat if you can find it.

This bottle is from the original release in 2013. Muted aromas of oak, agave and alcohol. Nice bloom of flavor on entry, mostly whiskey though the tequila is hiding there behind the Old Rip flavors. Barrel spice and caramel as well as that unique tequila pepperiness fading to some brown sugar caramel and a moderate alcohol buzz and numbing.

Slight agave and oak in the aroma but again dominated by whiskey. Possibly slightly more fruit in the aroma than the Stagg expression. Fruit and oak in the flavor. Definitely less whiskey dominated than the Stagg but also less flavor overall (even if the Stagg is a flavor that I don't personally like). Short finish and pretty non-descript overall.

Profile fades fast. A bit disappointing.

Pepper and alcohol with Rip hiding in the background. It’s a fun marriage of spirits.

One word, Wow!!

Not much depth; intense smell of alcohol; does not linger much on the palette; I feel they are using AND marketing the "Van Winkle" property more than the quality of the tequila...certainly the price point does not justify the juice. -I don't work 4 or in the alcohol business...

Interesting twist on this tequila. The various barrels nearly turn it into something totally different. Excellent craftmanship. However, for the tequila purist, this is more of a whiskey, due to the aging and barrel treatments...

A nice blend of agave flavor with whisky undertones.
