Here are 6 tequilas to impress any tequila fan, geek, snob, or nerd.
I could just simply say 'run don't walk', and go buy Gran Dovejo Tequila, but let me take some time to explain why.
Thanks to this beauty, Cinco de Mayo should last all weekend long. This most recent product from Gran Dovejo is winning serious praise (and very high scores in our app) for a good reason: AGAVE.
Nose: Cooked agave comes through clearly, with fresh vegetal notes and a solid hit of black pepper. The alcohol is noticeable, but it feels natural - like part of the structure rather than a flaw. Palate & Mouthfeel: Medium thin mouthfeel with just enough texture to stay interesting. Agave and black pepper show up right away, followed by a buttery salinity that adds some roundness. Herbal and mineral undertones bring a nice layer of complexity without overcomplicating things. Finish: Clean and spicy, with agave lingering on a warm, satisfying finish. Final Thoughts: Bright, punchy, and unapologetically agave driven. There’s a raw energy to this pour that works beautifully. It’s spicy, savory, and full of character. For the price, it punches well above its weight.
