Great bang for your buck! Like the blanco, very similar notes, slight hints of cinnamon / brown sugar spice on top of the beautiful yet unique agave notes theyve created, great stuff
Nice agave and caramel on the nose. Earthy, slightly guy banana. On the palate, great burst of flavor for a 40 ABV. I get cooked agave, vanilla and caramel.
I like this much better than the Blanco that was in a recent blind. Balanced with natural sweetness and a bit of barrel spice. Lot variation is pretty extreme with this brand. Hope you find one you like. Rating 1500 combined app and blinds.
Nose: Cooked and raw agave lead the way, layered with oak and a soft caramel note. Anise shows up just enough to bring a little earthy herbal edge. Palate & Mouthfeel: Mouthfeel is thin, no getting around that. But the flavors are clean. Cooked agave comes through along with dry baking spice, oak, and a pithy citrus note. There’s a subtle earthiness underneath - almost dusty. It adds depth without making things muddy. Finish: Dry and spice forward. Clove, pepper, and oak taper off in a clean, very quick exit. Final Thoughts: This leans dry, savory, and earthy - and yeah, it’s thin. But it stays balanced and drinkable. For the price, it punches above its weight. I’ve had plenty of overpriced, overdone repos that don’t hold up this well.
While I thoroughly enjoy the Blanco, the Reposado fell a bit short for me. It’s certainly well made, but the barrel influence seems to mute the explosive agave character that made the Blanco so memorable. In its place is a more wood-forward, whiskey-like profile with pepper and citrus that I can appreciate on its own terms—but it feels like a departure, almost like an entirely different spirit rather than a progression. (I normally disregard price rating but in this instance I had to rate the price in order to get the current score)
Zumbador Repo Adjusting up for value Nose: barrel notes, agave, pepper, subtle vanilla, a little alcohol Palate: agave barrel notes. Finish: warm and peppery with some sweet vamilla on the end Nice easy sipper A little lower rating than the blanco Rated with average value because I don't know price. Will adjust id need be when i know cost.
The 12 weeks of aging in Ex-American Oak Whiskey barrels truly imparts more than I expected. This young Reposado has a very present aroma of barrel spice sitting on top of the aromas of the blanco. It’s agave, pepper and minerals. The barrel spice stands out on the palate too. I’m guessing these barrels are first fill barrels for tequila. The agave is still very present as is the minerality and the vegetal peppers. This is a tasty Reposado that’s packed with flavor. There’s even some hints of orange peel. It’s a great flavorful Reposado at an outstanding price around 30.
Lote L750ZTR0003 Aroma: cooked agave with caramel, toast, and light jammed stone fruit Flavor: caramel and toffee take center stage with the cooked agave supporting and a slight minerality Mouthfeel: light bodied with a slight alcohol burn across the midpalette Finish: finishes a little hot with the alcohol burn that has some lingering sweetness Color: very light straw Also a great value for a Reposado, but not quite as good as the Blanco.
Cooked agave, cinnamon, pencil shavings
Oak is the first thing I taste then there’s a mix of vegetal flavors with baking spices. Ends with a warm bite and some sweetness. Works well in a margarita, much better than the blanco.
What a gem!! Get your hands on one
This is a really nice repo, especially for the price. I think in a lot of ways it mutes the interesting edginess that I like about the blanco, which I actually think is a detractor. The lactic notes I got from the blanco are gone, though there is the addition of caramel, vanilla, and some barrel notes that soften the overall profile. I think that it makes it a bit more alcohol forward. Ultimately, these are nitpicks, because I can’t think of a better repo that’s additive free for the price. I paid $28 before tax on this, and I don’t know how there could be a better value, especially for an aged expression. This holds its own as a sipper, and will be good in cocktails as well. I think I was just hoping for a bit more of the big agave notes and notes of funk I got from the blanco, and they just weren’t there.
Nose: Cooked agave, anise, olive, cinnamon, earth, oak, leather, vanilla, caramel, minerals Palate: Cooked agave, olive, anise, oak, cinnamon, vanilla, caramel, honey, minerals, earth
Bottle L750ZR0002 Nom 1643 Aroma: Nice cooked agave right up front and center, vegetal, brine, kinda strong on the nose, with some lemon zest n pepper Mouth: Hits strong with cooked agave n pepper, the mineral water is sharp with a slight bitter bite, clean light viscosity that doesn’t coat the mouth or feel oily at all. Finish is clean with a little heat in back of throat. Short finish. A touch of red pepper that lays after. Good stuff. Strong palette so may make a nice old fashioned Cheer For around 25$ you can’t beat it. Great brand. Can’t wait to see what the future beholds them
10/10 for Value. $31.99 at OTT.
The lote (lot/batch) under review is L750ZR0003. COLOR: Very light straw yellow AROMA PROFILE: Extremely subtle/muted – with significant time, deep aromas of cooked agave, fresh tropical citrus fruits (orange, lime, grapefruit, slightly sour pineapple), citrusy caramel & vanilla, herbal/vegetal & earthy notes, baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, light cloves), minerality & some salinity, sweet tobacco leaf, & white pepper. PALATE: Leads with a lot of anise and oak tannin bitterness followed by cooked & raw musky agave, dried citrus (orange) peel, the baking spices from the nose, herbal/vegetal notes, light caramel & vanilla, minerality & salinity, & a sweetness masked often by the anise, cloves, & oak tannins. There is an earthy quality that I like & it does improve the longer the bottle is open, but, unfortunately, I don’t think it lives up to all of the hype it’s getting currently (which isn’t the fault of the tequila). Compared to the hype, it’s rather underwhelming. MOUTHFEEL: Thin FINISH: Short (5 seconds) VALUE: Well priced & well made, but has an aroma & flavor profile that isn’t for everyone. ALWAYS ON SHELF/BUY AGAIN? Undecided – I’m not sure how often I’ll restock this, though I’m definitely open to trying another lote down the road.
AgaveSwappers/FuerteFanatics/ETXTC Nose: less interesting than the blanco, but still not unpleasant, no barrel on the nose Palette: still nice and well balanced, good mix of agave and barrel, a little dry Finish: less heat than the blanco, still a bit short, but still nice flavor, a little better flavor than the blanco
Received a sample from the Agave Swappers Group Aroma: fairly non-revealing on the nose. Definitely agave and alcohol, with some very subdued barrel notes. Very faint straw appearance. Taste: very agave forward, with some cinnamon and caramel notes that fade quickly, which I always like in a repo. Very light mouthfeel. Strong peppery flourish at the end. Finish: pepper and barrel notes persist for quite a while. A very finely balanced repo. Overall: I love it!
Nose: cooked agave, oak, bananas Flavor: cooked agave, oak, caramel, bananas, black pepper Finish: short, caramel, black pepper
Real thin flavor profile and body, almost water like. From what is experienced off a brand new bottle is some agave, slight floral, slight pepper. It’s just a cheap descent bottle of slight flavors. I’d definitely purchase again at 29$ when I find it
Light and inoffensive repo. Everything that’s supposed to be here is coming through, there’s cooked agave with some black pepper and extra sweetness from the barrel. It’s a little thin. There’s not much body or distinctive character but this is well-made at a good price.
Great value. Barrel is more subtle than expected, but there is faint oak and caramel on top of agave, floral, pepper, and mineral notes.
What a fun new tequila. Nothing too exciting on the nose. The fragrance hides itself but I pick up on some nice pepper and floral notes. This reposado hits its mark as soon as it crosses my taste buds. Very nice. Agave forward. Light oak notes. Some more spice, citrus and floral notes. And what a bargain for a quality produced tequila. Zumbador translates to “buzzed” in Google translate…why I think I will.
Zumbador repo Mellow especially compared with the blanco 40abv Aged in American oak 3 months Nose oak, bright vanilla the butterscotch cooked agave and cinnamon works great together though the agave is layered down a bit. Palate More agave on the palate interesting how's this is done. More agave on the palate same notes as the nose but less pronounced allowing for the agave to shine.

Nose is subdued. A little muted with alcohol on the nose. Taste is where it makes up. Agave up front with nice citrus, some vegetal, oak spices, caramel and black pepper on the finish. Mouthfeel is thin. This gets a lot of points for value. For $26 I’ll drink this all day.
