NOM 1258 | First rating: 89 Apr-2025 (Blind Rating: 90) May-2025 Original notes below: The neck crack aroma oozes with petrichor, anise and hay that I wallow in. There is a prominent note of lime citrus, with miniscule brine, ethyl, blanketed with an organic waxiness that makes me think of plant matter, perhaps it is the aroma of fresh agave with a bit of tang and cinnamon. The taste is straightforward with Agave, distinct cinnamon, petrichor, anise, nuttiness, lime/orange citrus, black pepper, prune, slight dill, mint with an herbal quality. A bit of sweet tanginess linger on the tongue with a vegetal note while the other flavor compositions are fleeting and thin. I can appreciate that trailing ethyl isn’t prominent for me in the finish as well
NOM 1258 | From TMM Blind Panel: Aromas: Cooked agave, cheese, cherry, orange, wet cement Flavor: Pepper, vegetal, grass, anise. Finish: It finishes pretty short. Stays balanced but disperses quickly. Tannic. I’d mix a drink with this but wouldn’t be interested in sipping it. It doesn’t stand out in any big ways.
NOM 1258 | Blind TMM tasting: Sweet agave, flowers, grass. This one has a nice medium finish.
NOM 1258 | Cooked agave, herbal, minerality, and a hint of mint and earthiness on the nose. Herbs and minerals on the palate. The flavor is pleasant, but very light. Similarly, the finish is pleasant, but other than some light pepper, it doesn’t linger too long.
NOM 1258 | On the nose I get sweet cooked agave, cinnamon citrus - specifically orange. Alcohol On the palate this has a nice burst of sweet agave. Jalapeño Pepper, citrus, again orange. It is vegetal and earthy. Not super complex but a good sipper.
NOM 1258 Vessel: Glencairn Nose: Cooked Agave, Orange Rind, Grapefruit, Hay, and Cinnamon. Palate: Pepper, Grass, Orange Blossom, Minerality Finish: Anise, Grass, Petrochor/ Cement, Limestone. Throughout this sipping experience, there has definitely been an influence of minerality. That influence increased exponentially from the nose to finish. Meanwhile, vegetal and citrus notes also remained a constant all the way through. Undoubtedly, this makes a great sipper, but it's also got everything that makes the perfect paloma; a minerality to compliment the salt and a citrus-floral element that mingles well with the Grapefruit.
NOM 1258 | Nice bottle, their mezcal tends to be overpriced but this is priced well in mexico for an additive free tequila. The nose is very muted but I really liked the intensity of cooked agave. Also would make a nice gift, I recommend it.
tmm blinds apr 2025 nose: vegetal anise fruit cinnamon palate: agave anise pepper previously tried at agua y miel jan 3 2025 Batch 1 NOM 1258 Nose cinnamon hay yeast. Palate is not offputting but not complex, agave Finish is short 81
Love the agave nose and the cinnamon, slight citrus agave flavor. I do drink quite a bit of it, still haven’t tired. I’d put it around Ocho in my pleasure comparison. For those that love the agave nose, I’d say it’s under rated
vegetal, earthy, great mineralty. smooth finish. amazing sipper, my new favorite Blanco
NOM 1258 | Smooth but doesn’t seem to have a lot of character.
NOM 1258 | Nom 1258. Delicious agave forward, citrus, herbal, minimality finishing with a nice creamy baking spice cinnamon note, worth every penny of the 39.99 on sale I caught it at, will definitely back $55 for this again. Highly recommend
NOM 1258 | On the nose : sweet cooked agave , mint , herbs , light minerals , hay and tons of cinnamon. Nice mouthfeel to this tequila , thick and creamy. Taste : tons of cinnamon , pepper and earthy. Finish is bitter. Batch N• 02-B/24
very different. very earthy. wet grass and hay. mushroom. has a little barnyard thing going on. cooked and raw agave notes are both present. vegetal. black pepper. this scores major points for value. it's not my favorite flavor profile ever but it's rare I find a tequila for $40 or less that makes me think the way this one does. I recommend it on value and uniqueness.
NOM 1258 | 8/31/25: Aroma - subtle but green and herbal maybe some wet concrete smells Flavor - black pepper and mint; not strong at all maybe nutmeg makes your mouth dry Finish - some burn but not much - does linger with grassy notes throughout 6.27.25 - Aroma: still got that grassy/minty maybe lemon zest Taste: okay second try and bug punch of herbs but this time I do get more green and baked agave. Yeah but still very herbaceaus and just not my thing. Finish: lingering mint not too much heat but some from the peppery flavors No change to score 6.22.25 - Batch 03-B-24 Aroma: green agave some peppers Taste: minty and watery but viscous at same time - definitely some green herbal agave maybe lemon zest and some grass. Some bitter/spicy notes at the back and sides - not sure I like that part of the sip. Finish: that bitter taste lingers and some heat from the peppers as well. Like the front but the finish is not for me, reminds me of Ocho Cerro del Gallo which while undoubtedly made well was one harvest that I just did not like
NOM 1258 | Green, agave forward. Spice and mineralality as a secondary flavor.
NOM 1258 | Minerals and agave, vegetal nose. Lively white and black pepper notes. Clean crisp finish , wanting for another sip.
NOM 1258 | Agave swap Nose: wet earth, cooked agave, citrus, orange peel, herbal Taste: cooked agave, citrus, orange Finish: black pepper, citrus, orange blossom, herbal
NOM 1258 | Great agave forward blanco with notes of citrus, orange, floral, light pepper, and minty! Not sure on the price, got a pour at a buddy’s place!
I’d rather drink this over Lalo and around same price point.
Me sorprendió este tequila no pensaba que estaba tan bueno en los aromas y paladar tiene agave es cítrico y mineral con grama y al bajar un poco picoso
NOM 1258 | So, I ordered The Lost Explorer months ago, and I finally decided to open it—actually forgot I had it! I was surprised. It isn’t bad at all. It tastes better than it smells. Nose: cooked agave 100%, slight sweetness—citrus, wet dirt—vegetable notes, slight alcohol smell. Palate: cooked agave, slightly sweet-citrus peppery/cinnamon, vegetable notes, low alcohol taste.
NOM 1258 | Super heavy nose all Agave and no room for anything else. Taste is wonderfully sweet on the corners of the tongue and in the finish. Lots of cinnamon and citrus. I won’t buy it again but I wouldn’t stop someone from buying it… decently priced at the quality level.
Valley tequila on the nose and palate. Cooked agave, citrus, brine, herbs and pepper. Taste has plenty of spicey elements that linger on the tongue so it was surprisingly lacking heat on the way down. Nice drink though.

Nice grassy/agave notes on nose & pallet, very herbal/vegetal, smells spicy/minerality, like a classic tequila should, agave there, hints of cinnamon, great sipper for price & in general
