Blind tasting with AMM: This was a well balanced blanco with a nice mix of brightness and earthy depth, leaning slightly into a mineral driven profile. On the nose, cooked agave comes through clearly, supported by black pepper and a noticeable mineral quality. Citrus adds a bit of lift and freshness, keeping it from feeling too heavy. On the palate, the cooked agave remains the focal point, backed by earthy and vegetal notes that give it a grounded feel. The minerality carries through nicely, adding structure, while a slight buttery note brings a subtle creamy edge that softens the profile. The finish is medium in length, leaving behind a mix of agave, earth, and light minerality. Overall, this is a solid blanco with good balance and a touch of complexity, especially with that buttery character rounding things out.

Tried at SYC 26. Nice agave flavor and smell with pepper and minerals. Nice citrus finish with some vanilla undertones.

Blind tasting via AMM: Very light agave aroma, almost neutral. Flavor delivers simple mix of sweet agave and white pepper. It’s got a dry mouth but a nice medium-long spicy finish. Not terribly complex but very approachable. Extra points for value.

A very agave forward blanco. On the nose is cooked agave, vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom, clove, lemon/lime and earthy tones. On the palate is sweet agave, handful of olives, brine, fresh mint, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, citrus, and mud(but I’m enjoying it). The finish is very nice with hints of celery creeping in on the tail end. This sample reminds me of a great valley tequila. It’s both sweet and spicy with a nice muddy base.

This is a nice product but it’s seems a bit “safe” for me. It has a lot of black pepper on the aroma but I’m not getting much else. The flavor has a pronounced cooked agave quality going on, but that’s about it. Mouthfeel is super thick, which is great. But, overall, it’s not complex enough to get me excited about it. I know plenty of other people, however, who would love the simplicity.

Excellent herbal nose and powerful agave flavor profile. Tastes like the highlands through and through with slight minerality and citrus.

Aroma is herbal and slightly sweetness. The taste is heavy agave and not much else. A very straight forward tequila. No complex flavors but good and definitely worth putting in your bar.

Sample from Matt Cavanaugh from the Agave Swappers group. Nice minty, citrus, agave aroma. Silky and flavorful with a medium warm bite. I like that the mint stays present all the way through. The finish is a bit quick, but it’s quite enjoyable. I’ll be on the lookout for a full bottle. Thanks Matt!

Nose: Cooked and raw agave come through clearly, along with a bit of earthy, smoky funk. There’s some ethanol up front and a touch of lime. Not the most inviting nose. Palate & Mouthfeel: Medium mouthfeel with a noticeable shift from the nose. It’s sweeter and more layered. Cooked agave leads the way, followed by honeycomb, a touch of fresh cut flowers, and a good amount of lime. Cinnamon and black pepper build slowly with each sip. Well balanced with enough depth to keep things interesting. Finish: Black pepper and honey linger nicely. It’s warm and clean, with just enough spice to remind you it’s still got some kick. Final Thoughts: This one impressed me more than I expected after the nose. The palate and finish are solid - smooth, flavorful, and balanced.

(AgaveSwappers) Rating #300 The aroma opens with potent petrichor and cooked agave’s sweet potato essence, rounded by light butter, lemon citrus, a hint of pine, and a fleetingly sweet floral note. On the palate, delicious cooked agave takes the lead simultaneously with powerfully potent petrichor. Tandem flavors of light lemon citrus, tangy fruit, a trace of pine, and a touch of cocoa present. A warming roasted walnut and a faint, yet distinct, perfumed floral note emerge toward the back. The finish is subtle, with lingering cocoa powder, a touch of brine, soft spice, and an earthy underpinning.

2oz sample- Agave Swappers- Thank you Keith! The nose is green agave and bright citrus lime zest. There’s some alcohol and a mix of dry minerals and brine. I taste some vegetal pine and green agave with some slight chalk before a vegetal green pepper / jalapeño pepper finish. It’s flavorful but slightly thin on the palate. 42 OTT

Aroma: Sweet Cooked Agave so reminiscent of NOM 1414 greets you immediately. Then a combination of Lime and Orange Peel give a Citrus Punch. A very nice Minerality with Cinnamon and White Pepper offer a little spice. There is touch of Grass accompanied by a nice Sweet Mint and Thyme. Tropical Fruits like Papaya and Pineapple with just a touch of Tart Apple soften this up. After sitting in the glass for 10-15 minutes a Floral note emerges very similar to other Sergio Cruz offerings. Taste: Oh the Sweet Cooked Agave... White Pepper and Cinnamon give their influence just as Orange Citrus join the Party! A balanced profile of Minerality and Earthiness remind you that Tequila is a combination of Water and Agriculture! A sweet Mintiness blends with Thyme and Sage. And right at the end the Floral note in the Aroma finishes this off. Finish: A nice Medium Length experience with a nice lingering of White Pepper and Cinnamon. Cultura 100 is an extremely balanced Tequila. Outside of the Sweet Cooked Agave, no flavor overpowers another. This Tequila is extremely approachable and delicious! If you're a fan of Ocho, Lalo, or G4, I implore you to taste this next to those. Cultura 100 will be in that low 40's price range and worth every penny!

AgaveSwappers Review Nose - some pepper, slightly vegetal, sweet pepper, fairly “hot on the nose”, bright Palette - a lot of vegetal notes on the palette, very clean, no manipulation, not overly citrus, successive sips got more interesting with some minerality, and depth. Some light anise notes. Definitely finishes with some heat. More jalapeño, green pepper that lingers. Pretty long finish tbh. The sips kept getting better on this one.

Thankful to have received a sample through Agave Swappers. Approached with anticipation knowing Sergio puts such great effort in all of his products. Greeted by cooked agave up front. Pleasantly sweeter than I was expecting. It’s definitely baked sweetness and not manipulated in any way. Mid palate is hit with citrus as white pepper comes behind and shuts the door as it leaves a bit quickly. The tequila’s presence is discernible for a little bit before its time to take another sip. Drinks fast, yet easy. Would be an excellent starting pour to start folks tasting through 1414.
