Coffee bean and chocolate open immediately, layered with rich caramel, bright lemon, and a subtle agave underpinning that keeps it grounded. Palate & Mouthfeel: Oaky with caramel and coffee notes up front. Floral and citrus highlights appear alongside hints of agave from the coffee bean. Cinnamon stands out, joined by vanilla, black pepper, and gentle alcohol. The texture is coating without feeling heavy. Finish: Lingering pepper and the bitter depth of coffee bean combine with soft floral and citrus notes, leaving a nuanced, slightly sweet-spiced close. Final Thoughts: Forget Espresso Martini’s - this is exactly MY kind of after dinner sip. It’s rich, lively, and full of character. Bold coffee and caramel notes with a touch of spice make it a fun tequila to savor.

Quintaliza repo h.p. 45abv I'm really enjoying this expression. I want to try it in an espresso martini! This is one of the most unique tequilas I've ever tried. I love the balance between the coffee barrels and the tequila. the coffee comes through more in this high-proof expression than it did in the 40abv expression. Nose: agave, barrel spices, a little apricot?!?! and coffee. I like that the essence of the coffee is apparent but not overwhelming Palate: sweet agave, caramel, vanilla and coffee! Finish: fades off to coffee beans This one keeps you going back for more!

Finally ran into Quintaliza locally and picked up the High Proof version. I love me some coffee and I love me some tequila so here we go: First, it's out of NOM 1522 which produces some really good brands and some kind of mid. High pressure Autoclave, Roller mill extraction, fermented in steel tanks, rested in American white oak then finished in used Mexican coffee barrels and comes in at 45% ABV. When I first put this in a glass, I got straight up coffee both on the nose and on the palate, even after letting it sit for 20 minutes. I started to feel disappointed but decided to go back in a couple of days. Nose: At first sniff, it's initially that fresh-ground coffee bean aroma which I honestly love. I let it sit for a bit longer and started getting cocoa, that bitter chocolate then cooked agave coming in under that. Palate - Just like the nose. Espresso or dark roast coffee at first going into that bitter chocolate then the agave comes in. After another sip or two I started getting oak and the agave was more pronounced. I've heard people talk about notes of leather in some aged tequilas and it's never been something I've been able to pick out, but I kind of got that here as well. On the finish that coffee and chocolate are still there then it moves again to the agave with some hint of vanilla and has a nice bit of peppery heat that lingers for a bit. It took me a while to figure this one out. Quintaliza isn't something you just pour into a glass and drink. This is a slow sipper and develops more the longer you spend with it. Is it something I'll drink daily? No, but it's something that I'll pull out when I just want to relax in a quiet place and enjoy the experience of it. If you have a chance to try it, I'd say go for it. Now, I think I'm going to try and maybe figure out a recipe for a Quintaliza Old Fashioned just in time for the Holidays. Sorry so long, but Merry Christmas to all!

Nose: sweet cooked agave, coffee, cacao, caramel, and a hint of fruitiness. Palate: agave sweetness is front and center followed by rich caramel and coffee notes. I’m also picking up citrus, chocolate, and just a touch of cinnamon and vanilla bean.

Beautiful bronze color. Nose: wet wood, carmel, coffee, and orange zest. Flavor carmilized agave, coffee, orange, clove. Finish more coffee. I really enjoyed this the coffee is present but not over powering.

So much coffee, caramel, and chocolate in the aroma. Lots of cooked agave with some alcohol and black pepper. The palate is loaded with coffee and chocolate on the front end with some cooked agave, metallic, and alcohol. I want to really like this because the coffee aroma and palate are amazing but there's something on the finish - solvent or something astringent that just leaves the finish not so great - kind of a harsh sudden burn.

Uno de mis tequilas favoritos, notas de chocolate, madera, agave cocinado y si puedes encontrar café en los aromas y paladar no es pronunciado pero si lo puedes sentir

Very good tequila not what you might expect from a tequila rested in barrels that had coffee beans. On the nose you get a little roasted agave with Chocolate tones and just a faint smell of coffee On the palate you get a touch of Roasted Agave, Chocolate , a touch of Caramel and the coffee notes are just noticeable enough on the backend to make it perfect. The finish is long and oily and the higher proof makes it great. This one to me you have to be in the mood for something different. I rated it a little lower based on the availability or lack there of on shelves.
