I would agree with others here that this is a very whiskey forward añejo. I can appreciate it on those terms.

I actually have two ratings for this anejo: the one scored judging it as a tequila, and a much higher score judging it as if it were a whiskey. My biggest issue is that I find almost no agave on the nose or palate, a big flaw for a tequila. However, if you're a whiskey fan you may well love this one! Lots of barrel in the form of caramel, vanilla and nuttiness. Cinnamon and white pepper provide a spicy kick on the finish. From that perspective I would score it a 90 point dram. Recommended for bourbon and rye lovers, and also for those who drink non-peaty whiskies.

Subtle vegetal aroma with clear agave smell. Flavor = pure whiskey...any trace of agave lost the barrel. A tequila only a whiskey lover could like.

Very pleasant relative to other things I tasted tonight. Might be good in an Anejo vertical. But then I compared to one of my old work horses and there is no contest. Sorry Semental but you are not the horse with. 99th percentile left ventricle by my ultrasound. ( If you are interested in the reference, read the rip roaring interesting book Everybody Lies.)

Very smooth tequila, a little sweet with a but of spice in the finish.
