Aroma has a nice amount of influence from the French oak which gives off some solid spice notes. There’s a nutmeg and clove aroma that I enjoy and a subtle oak. Flavor is a continuation of the spice from the French oak with more of the American oak sweet flavors coming in like cinnamon, cardamom, and a hint of red fruit and stone fruit. There’s a nice complexity without being overwhelming. There’s a tad bit of alcohol at first so I’d let this rest in your glass once poured before taking that first sip or two but other than that I feel like this is a really approachable and solid reposado.

Agave nose. Earthy flavor. Pepper smoke finish.

So good I can’t see straight!

The combination of the French and American oak is alive and well in this expression. It still does not lose the agave I just wouldn’t say it’s agave forward. I feel the brands profile could win over whiskey drinkers who know they want to come to the agave side.

Aroma, came through with agave, Barrel Oak, baking spice. I was caught between either spices or cinnamon and subtle hints of smoke. Palate, first sip was aggressive with pepper making my palate dry with a tingle from the cinnamon and spices, agave made it's way forward and finally hints of sweet fruit and barrel oak. Finish, medium with strong presence of the Barrel Oak and smoke, covering the pallet with a sweet peppery dry mouth feel and lingering until the end. Overall, for the price this repo drinks well and I would recommend to those with a love for spice or pepper I sampled it neat. a mix would be welcomed in a great setting.
