Don Roberto Plata (Clear Label)
“first of all, "tequila match" seems to have their information wrong on this tequila. This tequila is slow cooked in a horno for 72 hours and hand chopped with hatchets. no diffuser, no autoclave, no mill. Maybe the recipe changed? the packaging has changed since "tequila match" was updated last. on the nose I got notes of clay, ripe agave, black pepper and a touch of oak. the palate is peppery with delecate floral notes. there is a little bit of wood on the palate as if they ferment in wooden fermenters or let is rest after distillation in wooden vats for a couple days. the juice is still perfectly clear. for a $30 artisanal tequila this is an amazing value and highly recommend it.”
