Had a nice cooked agave floral nose with oak and pepper in the back. Taste was way different. Tasted like pine wood and very peppery. Wasn’t the best but wasn’t the worst.

Barrel No. 12868, Bottle No. 175, Bottled on 25-01-2018. Aged at least 22 months in barrels that held whiskey for at least 22 years. Aroma is muted with a bit of vanilla and a distinct dull note. Nice, complex flavor with a bit of sweetness upfront that transitions to a spicy pepper heat. The finish is warm and long. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve had any of the other bottles in this line. After tasting this one, I am motivated to go back to the others. This one is a nice supper with a distinctive flavor. 11-10-2018

Nose: cooked agave, strong whiskey/barrel influence, vegetal, mineral, citrus, honey, butterscotch, cinnamon, Palate: cooked agave, caramel, honey, barrel spice, pepper Thin and not much of a finish

Smells like bourbon and tastes like bourbon. Would even be a decent bourbon but if you blindfolded me and asked me to identify what I was drinking I wouldn’t guess tequila. I did not get any agave on the nose or the palate. Not really a fan.

Nose is lacquer then wood. Taste is pleasant. Woody, but well rounded. Not my top choice but I would drink again ... UPDATE: I revisited this after the bottle had been opened and about 3/4 full for a few weeks. With some air and time to breath the wood has backed off big time. I think a (ahem) more polished blanco would carry this expression further. But for what is, is it’s a decent sipper.
