some Alcohol at the beginning some pepper at the end. not too much Agave but sweet and spicy. if it wasn't that expensive I would recommend it but no for that price
Don't understand the hate for this. Sure it's whiskey heavy, but very pleasant.
New to tequila. Coming from a Bourbon background. I have truly enjoyed products like Don Fulano- Fortaleza-G4- Viva Mexico- Arette- Don Pilar and many others. Tequila Corazon Anejo THS is by far my least favorite. Lacking in Agave presence. Very little on the nose and on the palette. I want to smell and taste Agave then have the barrel influence as a bonus. This Anejo falls short in many areas when compared to other products for sure. Hope it opens up otherwise, over priced and not sure I will ever finish the bottle. Definitely going to share this with others to try on finish off the bottle.
I like this whole lineup as i have rye spirits and own 3 bottle of the Thomas H. Handy sazerac, it happens to be one of my favorite ryes, so naturally I'm going to like the flavors in the tequila experiment.
Overpriced. Not exciting at all.
Nose: Right off the bat, you get spicy rye and black pepper, backed by some oak and just a hint of agave. Honestly, it’s way more subdued than I expected - especially compared to something like the GTS expression. Not as punchy, definitely more laid back. Palate & Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is thick and satisfying. It really coats the palate. Sweet notes take the lead here, orange marmalade, brown sugar with a little pepper on the back end. There’s not a ton of agave presence, but the spicy rye influence comes through. It’s tasty, albeit a bit muted, and like the other Corazon Expressions I have tried in this lineup, feels more like an agave experiment than a true tequila. Finish: Pretty underwhelming. It wraps up quickly with some vanilla and that same burnt sugar, but not much else. You’ll be looking for more that just isn’t there. Final Thoughts: This isn’t really for the tequila traditionalist. But if you’re into unique pours or thinking cocktail applications, this could make a killer Manhattan. Just don’t expect a classic tequila experience - because it’s not that.
