Flecha Azul Añejo Nose: Orange peel with some mineral notes and a noticeable bourbon/whiskey influence. Taste & Texture: Cinnamon spice and sweetness lead the palate. The barrel influence is definitely present, but much more restrained and balanced than some heavily barrel-forward añejos. Nice mouthfeel. Finish: Warming, with noticeable but balanced tannins. A lingering vegetal character comes through after the barrel and spice fade.
Oak, vanilla, caramel, barrel notes overtake the agave. Good Añejo for bourbon drinkers. Aroma: 21 Taste: 24 Finish: 21 Value: 7 MGM grand with Caesar Ramirez. Nice pour so helped the value. Overall: 83
Surprisingly good for what is considered a celebrity brand. It’s pretty balanced, not too sweet and still have the cooked agave flavor.
pretty good. Nose is nice. tastes subtly of cooked agave. flavor falls off quickly. Slight ethanol notes in the finish. decent, but not spectacular.
Some sweetness but overall great tequila
Aroma: Bourbon, roasted agave Taste: sweet balance of wood and roasted agave, very smooth definitely feel like this guys was sitting in bourbon barrels. Worth sipping on!
This one takes a lot from the barrel. Caramel, cinnamon, barrel spice, and some cream. The agave doesn’t come until after the drink, but it provides a subtle coating of sweet agave. I like it. Very easy to enjoy.
Picked this up after taste testing at my local total wine. Very smooth, oaky, sweet caramel aroma & palate. Oak, caramel, & vanilla palate give way to a cooked agave finish. Enjoyable sipper. Extra point for value - you can pick this up for $10-$20 cheaper than similar additive free options.
Flecha Azul Anjeo Overall: Celebrity tequilla (Mark Wahlberg) that is just makes the cut for me. It's a reasonable sipping anjeo for the budget and is likely to appeal to whiskey buffs. I picked up for $32, which was a steal at that price. I wish this had a more bold agave presence. Aroma; Charred oak, cinnamon, black pepper spice, caramel (light sweetness), and a touch of whiskey. A great entry, albeit no appreciable agave detected. Taste: Thin mouthfeel. Black pepper, whiskey, cinammon, natural vanilla, brine/salt, and trace of nutmeg. Balance isn't quite right, but it's a favorable taste profile for its price point. Finish: A big peppery bite that tails off with a slight dry cinnamon feeling.
I was pleasantly surprised with this Tequila. I was told that it was from a celebrity, and one of my friends, who owns a restaurant, carries this line and advocates for it a lot. So I decided to try it, I have only gotten to try, their most aged profile the Anejo And I very much like it. I don’t know if it has any out of sugar or not, but it’s wonderfully sweet, and I enjoyed it very much by itself with nothing mixed.
Very smooth. Great finish. Very little alcohol burn which is what I look for in my tequilas.
High scores for great price on an añejo. It's a little sweeter than Tapatio añejo but has some great spice on the finish.
Aroma is nice…oaky-vanilla caramel with hints of pepper. Taste is really good. Oak with vanilla and caramel with barrel spice- pepper and agave. Finish is silky smooth with light pepper and delicious oak undertones.
Smooth but not overly flavorful. Not the strong, distinctive tequila I was expecting, given the price and positive word of mouth. Still, a palatable anejo.
Robust oak flavor. Great aromas.
Agave forward, a smooth saltiness.
Smooth, just enough sweetness. Not overpowering sweetness like Adictivo or something. Just enough. Very good tequila. Especially at $60’s price range. In that price range, it’s the best actually.
Somewhat bland taste, not too sweet. Finish left me with a pepper taste.
I remember reading about how sosme tequilas are made for whiskey sippers, this might be it. Not a cake batter celebrity tequila, but an okay woody pepper tequila. Kinda' grew on me at the end, but nothing memorable.
Nice deep auburn color. Long legs. Aroma that gets me excited. Tastes like a complex Mexican agave creation
Nice subtle oak aroma and flavor Slight burn..but stays low and subtle Not a ton of flavor for an anejo
The aroma is very subtle, the flavor has a hint of vanilla which is nice, but again the finish for me has a bite!
Overall, pleasant smell: oak and pepper. Similar profile on the taste. A little flat taste for my liking. Has a little bitterness at the end. Overall, not a bad sipper but not something I’d reach out for often.
