I am genuinely shocked by this pour. The blanco was good but this really steps it up a notch. Aroma: 24/25 Reminds me a lot of Siete Leguas Anejo which I absolutely love. A sweet lemon vanilla oak with a cooling effect. Perfectly ripe red fruits like raspberry then start to emerge. Almost a juicy quality. I really like this nose! Palate: 27/30 The aroma follows suit on the palate. Sweet lemon vanilla oak with a juicy raspberry sitting underneath. Starting to remind me of the monte blanc fragrance Individuel in the best way possible. Finish: 22/25 The oak really starts to open up on the backend. No warmth like the blanco, more of an oak cask with some smashed up raspberries. Value: 9/10 $40 at my local liquor store. Wild value.
Nose is tropical fruit. Palette is banana and caramelized baking spices. Nice mouth feel.
Medium amber in the glass, darker than many repos out these days. That could be from the combination of barrel types used. Aroma of cooked agave, caramel, cinnamon, oak and barrel spice. Flavor of cooked agave, black pepper, caramel, cinnamon, oak and a hint of butter. Medium-long finish.
Agave Swappers Blind Round 2: Repo Vessel: Glencairn Nose: Honey, Floral, Oak, Butter Palate: Caramel, Jalapeno, Cream Finish: Honey, Cinnamon, Cherry, Almond
Tough rating for me. I can’t get any aroma off it. I even poured some my hand and used it like aftershave. But still nothing! Taste is quickly barrel before a hint of agave. Finished with some pepper and burned sweetness—lightly bitter.

Taste like medicine. Not a tequila I like This was my original comment. Obviously a 70 says I did like this. I am now tasting a new lot with a different production method. This is April 2026 that I am tasting and I just received this from Volcán. The palate is agave with barrel notes of cinnamon, vanilla, oak, and caramel The palate doesn’t have that medicine taste I got in the first lot. It is alcohol forward which I think masks some of the flavors hidden below. While this one isn’t the awful 70 that I originally tasted, it also isn’t a repo that I would go back to on a regular basis.
Bottle: L122A220280, 11:49:02 1760, 26/04/2022 Appearance: Light maple syrup Nose: Oak, cinnamon, cooked agave, vanilla, butter, molasses, apple cider, nutmeg, flowers, whiskey, barrel spice, clove, anise, leather, citrus, orange, honey, black pepper, dry earth, and mint…very barrel-heavy for a reposado Palate: Oak, molasses, vanilla, cooked agave, butter, cinnamon, clove, flowers, gardenia, black currant, citrus, lemon, black tea, black pepper, butterscotch, wood shavings, oregano, peach cobbler, light smoke, and mocha…the agave is there, but the aging steals the show Finish: Oak, black pepper, oregano, flowers, and molasses…medium viscosity with a quite long, warming finish Overall: This is a hard one to describe. The initial pour felt overly oaky and unidimensional. However, after giving it some time to open up, the flavors and aromas felt more balanced and harmonious…but, still, the most notable among them very heavily favor the barrel aging process and not the base agave. It’s incredible to see how much barrel influence can be imparted in the same timeframe as, say, a lightly rested Tequila Ocho reposado. Will most likely buy this again at some point.
New batch of Repo I had to let this open up for a while Nose there is a lot of barrel notes , red fruits with some earthy minerals, not a lot of agave. Taste agave sweetness a red fruit and a little floral a little Carmel and a lot of barrel notes Finish has a nice sweetness and then tannic with a little pepper medium in length
Packed with flavor. The new oak barrels really create a lot of pop. Fruity. Honey. Smoke. Looooong finish. This repo has so much structure it might actually be a candidate for over ice.
Aroma/Taste – The oak-aged bourbon is unmistakable. This has all the typical notes of barrel aging, vanilla, caramel, leather. Upon first sip, all the baking spices are there, cinnamon, clove, pinch of nutmeg; I also smell pine. While the essence of agave is discernible, it takes a backseat to the robust presence of bourbon. Finish – Herbal and green pepper on the finish. I enjoy a nice, long finish here. This is warm all the way down. Overall – I really enjoyed this tequila. It's a standout choice for introducing bourbon enthusiasts to the nuanced and delightful world of tequila. Though I appreciated its complexity, I wished for a more pronounced presence of agave, rather than it taking a supporting role.
Very smoky with a lovely finish. The sweetness of the agave comes through along with the smokiness which is a unique and favorable combination Nose is wood, some tropical fruit, which is special The finish is excellent
Nose- Slightly sweeter aroma, oak with aromas of caramel. Almost caramel candy like. Palate- Much more oak influence, sweeter, almost like an anejo. Strong caramel/vanilla flavors, cooked agave, baking spices, alcohol presence. Finish- Slightly shorter finish, oak barrel sweetness really carries through, overall woody finish. Notes- Almost Anejo like, slightly harsher, with more alcohol presence, being helped along with a healthy dose of oaky sweetness.
Eye- nice golden color with slow dripping legs Mouthfeel- buttery Nose- cooked agave, deep leather, fruit, caramel, barrel notes and minerality Taste- nice cave, sweetness buttery, pitted fruit, barrel oakiness, with a slight bitterness like orange peel, dark chocolate and butterscotch. This one has a short finish that dissipates quickly.
Nice barrel nose with sweetness and beautiful color in glass. Palate is easy going with a slight heat finish. Nice from start to finish for me. This was a nice relaxing sip. Tasted with AF 2024 Blind Repo. My highest rated tasting.
Revisited on 5-5-2026 due to brand sending a sample with new profile. Previous score was 81 Nose – Cooked agave, caramel, oak, bourbon, musty room, butter, dark fruit, raisin Palate – Cooked agave, caramelized, herbal, aerosol, butterscotch/toffee, honey, bourbon, apple cider vinegar, baking spices, pepper, dark fruit, dark chocolate Mouthfeel – Medium-to-light body with a darker yellow hue Nose - Agave, caramel, oak, bourbon, dark fruit, butter Taste - Agave, caramel, oak, honey, bourbon, baking spices, pepper. medium mouth feel Darkest but yellowish. Light mouth feel Tasting 2 Nose- Agave, Carmel, oak, bourbon, butter, Fruit Taste - Agave, butterschotch, honey, spices, pepper, dark fruit Tasting 3 Nose - Agave, caramel, oak, aerosol butter, Fruit, raisin, bourbon, Taste - Agave, butterschotch/toffee, honey, spices, pepper, dark fruits, dark chocolate, aerosol
Despite being a reposado, it has the characteristics of an añejo. Dark colored with an aroma consisting of: slight agave, whiskey, banana, butterscotch. Taste matches the aroma with an oaky touch.
Overall - very nice . . . delicately balanced w/ beautiful hue. Aroma - "full" w/ whiffs of chocolate + cinnamon. Flavor - moderate sweetness but not overpowering. Finish - bit of sweetness but also spice nicely lingers. Balanced well.
Appearance is dark honey. N- honey, agave, fairly floral, vanilla, earth, apple, cherry, dusty oak T- baked agave, light bourbon (oak, vanilla), honey, pineapple, just a hint of jalapeno MF- full bodied F- medium in length and very well balanced
volcan sent me a sample of their newest batch This Repo has a decent nose - barrel notes, sweet, caramel and vanilla. Palate is sweet caramel, vanilla, i don't get a lot of agave, and theres a bit more oak than I prefer Finish is quite dry with some bitterness Took it to a tasting with whiskey drinkers who enjoyed it. So I'd say thats the audience they're looking to capture.
Distillery tasting 80 Blind tasting: 81 Earthy, musty, char barrel/match on the nose—very unique. Got some agave, orange, and whiskey flavor.

This was sent to me for a retry as the process has changed. My old score was 79 and I have scored this an 84. As I always do, when tasting and rating, I let this open for 15 min. The nose is barrel spice, oak, vanilla, and some cooked agave in the background, and a hint of caramel. The barrel is really the main note The flavor is oak, barrel notes, some cinnamon and vanilla, with some sweet cooked agave, clove, and a hint of caramel. Has a dry mouth feel The finish is medium and starts a little sweet moves to some black pepper and finishes with a hint of agave. It’s not complex and the balance is off for me, but an improvement over the last one I tasted and rated
Volcán de mi Tierra - Reposado This Reposado is created with 100% Highland (Los Altos) agaves! The tequila is then aged for 135 days, which is just over two months, in new American and European oak. It has a rich nose. I smell the cooked agave, baking spices, orange citrus oil and oak. I taste cooked agave, orange bitters and the caramelized topping from crème brûlée. There is a peppery alcohol tingle on the mid pallete. The flavors linger on the finish due to its nice viscosity. This is a powerful Reposado and it’s one I’d recommend you trying. I’m not accustomed to European oak so I’m getting some notes I’m not used to. Salud!
While aficionados tend to prefer blanco tequilas, and imbibers of dark spirits usually gravitate towards añejos, the reposado category is often overlooked.

I’m tasting the most recent batch as of early 2026 and this is a much lighter version that what I’ve seen or tasted in the past. I think I like this version because there is a lot more agave available with some pepper and a little bit of vanilla on the nose. I’m getting agave dried fruit and cinnamon on the flavor and the finish has some butter and more dried fruit. Overall, I think this is a improvement from past versions. But by the way those past versions were also great too.
