Appearance and body: Dark coffee colored with a slight purple hue. This tequila was “infused” with the soil of the volcán de tequila - actually activated carbon. Aroma: Sweet nose. Vanilla, powdered ginger, a whisper of spice and fruit. Faint limestone. Flavor: Glacé sweet, almond and vanilla. Almost a grape hard candy nuance. The color is conjuring up a coffee note? Pretty darn sweet. Moderate pepper. Agave, where are you hiding? Finish: Some body to this. But not complex. It’s an interesting non offensive beverage - but it doesn’t taste much like tequila to me. And its price point is crazy. Not sure who their market is, nor the whole point of this tequila?
