Batch 2 (44%) | Nose: Agave is present but quickly joined by whiskey like tones and assertive barrel spice. Stone fruit adds a rounder sweetness, while sweet potato brings an earthy depth. Caramel softens it all, giving the nose a layered mix of earth, oak, and confection. Palate & Mouthfeel: The entry hits bold, with agave poking through before a surge of barrel driven spice takes over. It’s a spice bomb, but one carried by salted toffee notes that keep the intensity in check. The mouthfeel is firm and energetic, matching the elevated proof. Finish: The close leans into dessert territory with burnt sugar, oak sweetness, and lingering richness. It’s indulgent and lasting, with the barrel leaving a clear imprint. Final Thoughts: This one comes straight at you with both proof and oak influence. For my taste it tips a little too far toward the barrel, but there’s no denying the richness and impact. I admire the character and the unapologetic style, even if it’s not perfectly in balance.
