NOM 1438 | Appearance: lighter than the Reposado when sitting next to each other Aroma: (20) heavy oak notes, agave, butterscotch Taste: (24) very oak forward, agave, butterscotch, fruit, black pepper Finish: (19) quicker than expected. Oak Overall: (79) $50 & it came in a nice wooden box presentation just didn’t live up to expectations. Very heavy oak notes but lacking other barrel notes for resting 15 months.
It sure what’s going on here. Not a fan of this. This tastes unnatural to me—particularly the vanilla flavor. Not sure I believe it’s additive free.
NOM 1438 | Not a fan. Not worth the price. Can’t say I would recommend because I didn’t find it clean and the price. To Much oak and musty and just not natural. It may be additive free but my palate isn’t feeling it.
Very subtle aroma. Very smooth with just a hint of spice in the finish. Flavor is a little weak.
Scent is sweet w/ butterscotch and some fruit maybe… flavor is sweet also w/ vanilla/butterscotch … yummy. Finish has some nutmeg as well… smooth
Interesting and good! hybrid barrels-one year in giant pipon oak barrel that rotates with charcoal filtering. Then 11 months in twice charred White oak regular size barrels. Gabriella from Nosotros know her stuff! She also says certified no additives but not from TMM. Interesting!
