All around great reposado from Cascahuín! From aroma to finish this one is good. Nothing outstanding but very good. Second tasting: I’m getting cherries and dark brown sugar. Sign me up!
nose: anise, herbal, agave, citrus, pepper and some alcohol palate: cooked agave, anise, barrel spices, chocolate, caramel and pepper it keeps evolving as it opens
Aroma: subtle tropical notes, baking spices,-earth, minerals Flavor: oily mouthfeel, love the mouthfeel, nice balance, soft notes of a barrel but the blanco still shines Finish: medium-long a lot of mint on the finish *does not drink like a 46%
Nose: Oak, agave, honey, vegetal, lime zest, fruit Palate: Black pepper, agave, minerals, Finish: Nice on the gums with a very easy finish dissipating quickly Nose was much more enticing than the taste. Mouthfeel was good but enjoyed the other Ranches a bit more.
Simply put not exactly for me, I feel like it’s a tad unbalanced and too bitter at times, and it feels like too much kick for 46%. The chocolatey finish saves it from complete mediocrity however. Maybe it’s just the terroir because I loved the el Sabino blanco, now I need to try the el sabino repo to confirm suspicions.
Classic aroma Red hot candies Velvety
Very sweet, but not in an artificial way.
Smooth and I’m a fan! Sweet but not overdone. Brown sugar and a little fruit maybe..
Nose: cooked agave, pepper, citrus, herbal, mineral, lemongrass, caramel, honey, baking spices, vanilla, fruit Palate: cooked agave, honey, spices, mineral, herbal, fruits, vanilla, caramel, citrus
Agave, pepper, cinnamon, light caramel and maybe some apple. Has a nice kick to it with a medium lingering sweet finish. Probably the best reposado that I’ve found so far. Definitely give this one a try if you see it.
Agave swap Nose: cooked agave, lime, citrus, earth, oak, cinnamon Taste: cooked agave, white pepper, citrus, oak, cinnamon Finish: white pepper, oak, barrel On the nose the plata and this are almost indistinguishable and the barrel flavors layer on to take the flavor and finish to a softer place
Great mineral and citrus aromas. The mineral aromas continue to shine on the palate along with some slight spice and pepper.
Nose - Earth and agave. A little sweet. Citrus but I can’t place it specifically. Honey and maybe a touch of fruit. A smidge of alcohol. Going back the alcohol isn’t there and the nose is softer with more caramel. Palate - I know this isn’t aged long, but it really drinks like a blanco. That agave and earthiness. Cinnamon and a bit of oak. Peppery. With a warm finish. Second try of this it seems very buttery on the pallet with a nice caramel and sweetness and much less pepper I like it but not nearly as much as the El Sabino Plata. (I know one is aged and one isn’t, but this doesn’t drink much like a repo). Still want to give the whole lineup a try. Update- After leaving this for a bit and going back, I like it much better and adjusted my score
based on ratings I saw I wanted to love this, the aroma and taste were really good but the finish was harsh
Nose is super clean and pleasant. Starts with fruity pepper forward. somewhat sweet in the mouth. Not sickly sweet though. Finish is smooth enough, but not vanilla explosion. I dig it.
Aroma: agave, citrus, black pepper, fruit Taste: agave, citrus, black pepper Finish: good finish with citrus notes $67 light reposado, drank more like a joven (Repo&Blanvo)
Lote 604 11/12/24 Aroma: stewed candied agave fruit and spice with some pear, persimmon, and toffee Flavor: even deeper and richer jammy fruit and caramel sweetness than the nose with some dark cherry and sage Mouthfeel: medium body with only a touch of alcohol burn, very smooth Finish: incredibly long lingering fruity and sweet toffee until the end Color: light straw This is delicious and incredibly flavourful stuff. I love it!
Drinks more like a blanco than a repo (which is fine by me). Nose is agave, black pepper, plum/prune, minerals. On the palate it's fresh cooked agave and the signature 1123 minerality. Not a ton of barrel influence to speak of save for a light touch of honey and brown sugar. Heat rises at the end for a spicy black pepper finish. A clean tequila that showcases the agave of the terroir.
Great nose with Citrus, agave and some lemongrass. The taste is so nice with minerality, agave, honey, and citrus. Once this opens up the finish is so buttery. Another Chava hit!
Will need to revisit. Not as good as the blanco or the other Lagrimas repos.
NOM1123, tequila Lágrimas del Valle Reposado 2024 La Loma. LOTE 604, bottled on 111224, tasted on 1-6-25. Color: just a tad of yellow, almost transparent. Aroma: cooked agave, acidity, light herbaceousness, light green vegetal notes, good light sweet sour & acidic balance, 30 minutes in the glass the agave notes become slightly sweet. Hint of citrus. Aromas are slightly subtle. Light earthiness. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, alcohol sensation just like La Loma blanco is medium to medium high, hint of pepper. Slightly minty. Flavor just like aroma is slightly subtler than the previous 3 estate releases. Finish is medium to long, cooked agave with herbal, light green vegetal & light earthy notes persist.

Nice but I do enjoy the blanco more.
