TMM BLIND Nose: earthy mushrooms, rustic, umami, lemongrass with a hint of honey Taste: The mushroom earthiness carries over to the taste. The taste is sweeter than the nose and some white and black pepper appear. Overall: This might be a like it or leave it profile. The palate is more pleasant than the nose. This might go well with food and cooking with it.
Socorro Blanco opens with light notes of brine, mild agave, and citrus over a touch of alcohol and earth. On the palate, it’s crisp and easygoing — a blend of pepper, grass, and a hint of jalapeño with a mild sweetness that keeps it balanced. The finish is short but lingers softly with pepper and light bitterness. While not complex, it’s clean, approachable, and delivers solid value for the price — a reliable pour for sipping or mixing. Great price point
TMM BLINDS July 2025 Sample 4 Nose: Nose hay alcohol brine mild anise, some mild agave, vanilla, citrus, pepper Palate: subtle, mild sweetness with pepper and grass/hay, not complex, palate is better than nose Finish: warm, pepper kick with a mild bittnerness
Tried this my first time as a TMM blind. I tried this again on an American Airline flight. This is an earthy tequila with a touch of funk. I personally find it enjoyable.
• Visual: Good viscosity, very slow cascade. Clear w/ clear thick edge. • Initial Nasal Impact: Warming. • Aroma: Sweet funk, mineral, river rock, cooked agave, petrichor, melon husky. • Mouthfeel: Buttery w/ sufficient alcohol. • Flavor: Cooked agave, mineral, melon husk, light licorice, pepper. • Finish: Med - long w/ cooked agave then the melon husk takes over. Licorice on the retro nasal.
TMM Blind Tasting: Smells oddly sweet hint of vanilla soap, possible some chemicals. Slight hint of honey, a little mint, hint of cola, and a little burnt rubber makes me think possible additives, and/or diffuser. Palate- very "smooth" mouthfeel. Likely glycerin. Lots of anise, white pepper, a little honey. Decent amount of heat. Medium length finish. Not pleasant. Decent amount of herbs and sweetness. Seems artificial. Points for value.
The aroma is pungent, no agave present. The flavor is not as offensive, but not flavorful. The finish is bitter, with a solvent defect.
unpleasant aroma even after being open for 15+ minutes. flavor not as bad, hence the word bad. average finish.
TMM Blind 2025–Dusty, wet earth, and tart aroma. Flavors include red grapes and jalapeño. Thin mouth with a short initial finish that finds a way to linger on the lips. Points for value.
The nose is a sweet funkiness that overpowers everything else, some agave sneaks through, and I get cooked pancakes. Some of that funkiness carries over to the flavor with some fruitiness and the finish is medium and that funky flavor carries over. It’s just not my style
Nose: The nose on this is like blackstrap licorice but made with agave syrup, nori, anise seed, and caraway. Super interesting aromas. Big time notes for a bargain. Very salty and mineraly. Palate: sweet sesame, toasted rye crackers, sweet aloe and sweet plastic. Super good for the money. Black pepper, white pepper, then red pepper super quickly in that succession. With a salt water note at the end. Overall: I like weird flavors and honesty. This tequila punches WAY above its price here in Austin of $28. Makes a great margarita but also is quirky in excellent ways for sipping in my book. A steal just like but different than Zumbador.
Very sweet. May not be additive-free. Taste and aroma were pleasant. For the money, it's a decent buy, but Cimarron would be my budget choice for mixing.
Agave Forward
Funky, mineral forward, full-bodied, easy to drink. I still can’t buy/ find this brand in my area and had an opportunity to have a few tequila sodas on American Airlines (finally added tequila to their liquor lineup!) and was surprised as to how good this was. I took one of the mini bottles home to sip on it neat and like others said, it does remind me of Cimarron, but not in a bad way. Definitely has character and so much more flavor than tequila I’ve ever been served on a plane.
Super interesting profile. Compares most closely with Cimarron Tequila. Cooked agave. Fruity, slightly earthy and lactic. Light black pepper on the finish. You could do a lot with this, great value to sip or mix.
