Not many products aged or finished in Mizunara oak, an ET Mundial ($$$$) is one. Quite light in color but quite aromatic in a Buffalo Trace Small Batch collection whiskey glass. Very light and mild on the palate this has a nice oak presence along with agave from the base distillate. The 44% ABV really gives this a kick on the back end leaving the tongue with a great tingle.

Nose: Honey, Nutmeg, Leather, Baking Spice, Tobacco, Oak Palate: Tobacco, Dried Fruit, Barrel Spice, chocolate, Vanilla, Honey Finish: Honey, Vanilla, Oak, Buttery Maybe lost a point or two for value. It's a decent Añejo from start to finish. That said, I do think the price tag is high for what it is.

Nice floral, leather and honey aroma. Fruity, honey, baking spice flavors. My favorite of the lineup so far (tried three).

I loved the nose on this one. Very fragrant with incense, sandalwood, honey, caramel, cooked agave, and a fruit basket. Very interesting release… Would love to try the sister expressions from this line!

Aroma: Cooked agave leads the nose, followed by leather and baking spice. Palate: Cooked agave remains front and center, with layered fruit and baking spice. The mizunara influence shows as a soft and subtle oak profile. Finish: Medium finish with gentle vanilla and oak lingering. Overall Impression: I’m a fan of this unique expression that offers a different take on barrel influence through the mizunara oak. It adds complexity without masking the agave, making this an interesting and approachable option for those curious about less traditional cask aging.

Nose: Cooked agave, oak, baking spices Taste: Cooked agave, oak, butter, viscous and oily Finish: black pepper and a wine-like dryness Overall: Really good but not overly exciting. If I didn't know it was aged in Mizunara, I wouldn't ever guess it wasn't American Oak. I'm not very experienced with analyzing nuanced differences in barrel types, so take that statement with a grain of salt.
