This is a beautifully aged tequila. Agave forward, anise, mint (a favorite flavor profile of mine), and all the sweetness of barrel aging. A bit pricey, but it comes out of a juggernaut of fantastic tequilas and brands, NOM 1123. My first bottle went fast and I'm saving my second.

Nice flavorful aged expression. This bottle shines with its 1123 pedigree and michocan agaves blended to perfection.

Nose: Cooked agave, vanilla, brine, petrichor, earth, citrus, and a touch of honey. A nice mix of sweet and savory - classic but with some nuance. Palate & Mouthfeel: Thinner mouthfeel than expected, but there’s still some grip. Cooked agave is front and center, followed by anise, black pepper, a good dose of vanilla, and a little oak rounding things out. Citrus threads through and lifts the profile just enough. Finish: Creamy but bright. Smooth, with a gentle linger that carries the vanilla and pepper. Final Thoughts: Solid across the board. At $60, this is a strong value thats accessible but not boring. There’s enough going on to keep an experienced drinker engaged, but it’s friendly enough to pull someone in early on their tequila journey. Easy to like.

Petrichor hits first, it’s followed by a fresh wave of mint, soft cooked agave, damp earth, and a warming touch of cinnamon. There’s a floral lift in there too - honeysuckle or something close to it. Clean, natural, and layered. Palate & Mouthfeel: Medium weight and slightly slick. Upfront you get rich cooked agave, then a real brightness from fresh chili pepper, it’s just the right kind of spicy. There’s minerality throughout, a touch of brine, and that earthy, vegetal backbone that ties it all together. Finish: Spicy and long. The heat is tingly and persistent but never harsh. It carries the earth and pepper forward without drying things out. Final Thoughts: This one has so much going on, and it all works. There’s balance between the sweetness of the agave, the grounding earthiness, and that vibrant spice. Despite the intensity, it never drinks hot or sharp, just bold and well structured. Amazing quality here. One of those bottles that makes you stop mid sip and appreciate how dialed in it is.

Nose: Cooked agave leads, clean and slightly warm. There’s a dry minerality that comes through right away, backed by some earth and a soft green herbal note - mint and raw veg, maybe even a bit of bell pepper. It’s not a loud nose, but there’s some depth hiding in there. A light dusting of cinnamon adds a gentle spice around the edges. Palate & Mouthfeel: Sweet agave right up front. There’s a nice brightness to it - not overly sweet, but it shows up clean and clear. Minerality and salinity follow, giving it some tension and lift. The veg notes carry over from the nose, still green but not bitter. Mouthfeel is on the fuller side for a blanco, a little oily and rounded. It drinks like it’s higher proof - not hot, but structured and dense, in a good way. Finish: Cinnamon comes back, subtle but present. The veg lingers too, giving it an earthy, savory lean on the backend. Not a long finish, but it holds together well and leaves behind a clean agave-driven impression. Final Thoughts: I like this one - even with my palate a little off tonight, the agave still cuts through. It drinks more like a still strength even though it’s not, and I mean that as a compliment. There’s a weight and clarity to it that stands out, and it makes me want to come back to it on a better tasting night to pick up on the detail I’m probably missing right now.
