Cantera Negra Añejo
“What a surprise! I discovered this tequila at a little dive bar in the city. It was delightful! Incredibly smooth with a butterscotch profile (much less so than the thick sweetness of Casa Noble but far more than the thin, woody El Tesoro de Don Felipe) with the softest hint of oak. And did I say smooth? It’s one of my favorite tequilas! I’m surprised at the cost though, this bottle is very much like the other bottles in the $50 dollar range but it’s $60, I don’t think it justifies the price. Definitely an experience worth having ”

Casa Noble Single Barrel Extra Añejo
“Nose of vanilla and spice, caramel and butterscotch. Smooth body and beautiful amber color. After bite tinge of sweet alcohol, oak. Tastes of caramel, burnt sugar, thick mouthfeel and creme brûlée. It is very sweet. ”

El Tesoro Tequila Añejo
“This tequila is a gem. Free of additives, it’s one of the cleanest, most pure tequilas I have tasted. Aged longer than most tequilas in the price range, I prefer it over straight whiskey. The color is a soft gold like fine straw. Aroma of vanilla, alcohol, honeysuckle. The taste is smooth with a heavy oak bite, with an almost butterscotch richness in the mouth. It is dry but there is a lingering astringent sweetness from the wood almost like cotton candy. Herbaceous. Peppery bite. Excellent straight, on the rocks, added to a hot toddy, Irish coffee, or chai tea. Phenomenal tequila”

Teremana Tequila Blanco
“ Nose of tangerine, rubber, and acetone. Flavors of vanilla, earth, spice, citrus, a coppery pepper. Smooth introduction and sharp alcohol after bite. This doesn’t taste like tequila. The hangover is as bad as cheap vodka. You can tell a lot of love went into making this product, the copper aging and roasting of the agave is apparent. Added flavors or mixtos or something in processing (plastic? solvents?) destroys what could be an amazing tequila. It’s not unpleasant tasting, it’s just like...flavored tequila with a hangover. Altos, Luna Azul, even Hornitos is better in the price range. ”
