This is surprisingly approachable considering the abv, the agave is there and it’s almost balanced! I realize this was produced to make cocktails and not sip but I’m sipping and it works, well done lads!! Nutty with some grapefruit, me like!!

Toasted agave & spices. Bitter finish.

Plastic bandaid nose, high solvent level. Mild sweetness on entry, with a lot of alcohol. Spicy sweet/sour development, grassy finish. Additional water kills solvent on nose, revealing more agave. The taste profile is smoothed out, with the high points tamped down, better balanced. This one needs the bit of water to reveal its true nature.

Blind rated. This one has a nice citrus aroma with some cooked agave. The strange thing is that it's quite muted, particularly for being an overproof, although pleasant. In the palate is quite muted as well, slight taste of agave and citrus and quite some alcohol burn. It doesn't taste bad at all, but at the same time it's quite unremarkable. It's as if it were over filtered. I found this same tendency in the repo from kit #1 which resulted being Patron Roca. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this turned out to be Roca as well.

Strong clay/earth aroma (almost like Silly Putty for those of you who remember it) with just a hint of agave, floral notes and alcohol. Hot on entry (but not as much as sample 1 or 2) with peppery spice and the floral note from the nose follows through in the flavor. A nice bit of complexity in the flavor versus just high-proof heat. The finish is surprisingly (and disappointingly) brief.

The aroma is incredibly subtle for something that is high proof. There is a incredible freshness though. I get mint and agave but again they are very subtle. The flavor, however, is not lacking. It's very strong and bold. The flavor is just like the aroma (mint and agave) but not subtle at all.

Good nose, candy with cinnamon and sugar. The flavor has light agave, anise but is overall light on flavor. The finish was quick but full of spice.

From a blind tasting. Green agave, some white pepper and anise in the mouth. The aroma seems muted initially and is dominated by alcohol. After 10 minutes or so I get some green pepper and agave.

Mexican 50% abv. version, no lot code seen, marbete is from year 2009, tasted on 10-6-24. Aroma: I started tasting this tequila 40 minutes after serving, it was quite potent. Sweet cooked agave, resinous sweetness, light aromatic green vegetal notes, light earthiness, hint of anise, light white floral notes, light acidity, light citrus, hint of sourness, good sweet sour & citrus balance like a grapefruit. Reminds me of Terralta blanco lot 1 & 2. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, it is quite spicy and my tongue has a tingling sensation. Good sweet sour and citrus balance. Hint of white floral and sour aroma through my retronasal. Finish is long, light sweet cooked agave, light aromatic green vegetal notes, hint of earthiness, sweet sour and citrus balance lingers. Resinous sweetness! I discovered that aromas and flavors were more noticeable and intense as time went by.

Picked up a bottle of this at the Tequila Museum in Mexico City, well worth it!

Had a taste at the duty free shop in Puerto Vallarta airport bought a bottle. Nice sweet agave taste with a real strong finish ( it's 100 proof ) after the kick of the 100 proof passes you get a little pepper along with a return of the sweet agave flavor. This one lingers on the tongue for a while it's as if you get to taste it twice, once before the burn and then again after!

Clean crisp spicy thin on mode and light finish smooth for high proof
