This tequila has a great aroma from the wine barrel finishing/aging. Was happy that this bottle, which is at least 6 or 7 years old, smelled and tasted as new upon opening. Darker and more amber in color than the 3 month product, this reposado has a typical Asombroso mouth feel, slightly viscous with some backend sweetness.
NOM 1146 | Very smooth on the pallet with a light finish.
Wow! Has to be in the top two tequilas that I have tried so far (have sampled over 300). This rivals even the finest Cognacs. I would give it a perfect score except for the price ($700 - $900 bottle) which would deter a lot of people. If you ever get a chance to try this tequila I would absolutely recommend you do.
Floral finish, very interesting and worth trying. Definitely not your 'middle of the road' Tequila.
NOM 1459 | Sweet on the nose, slight burn. Some white pepper , short finish.
