The first nosing reveals a medicinal, sour funk that dissipates after a few minutes in a Glencairn. Not a great start for the rested version of what was just an OK blanco from Tequila Orendain. Initial sip is bitter and then turns to some tannic wine notes like Chardonnay wine and the barrel it was aged in. Finish is short, bitter and not that great as it ends on some sour note from the oak used to rest. Cocktails it is. The blanco is much better for me as the barrel does nothing but detract.

For $22 I don’t think I expected much, this is ok but has a strange flavor, I can’t really place the profile but tastes a little medicinal with some agave, grass and alcohol. Finish is the same. Not sure I’ll get it again but might try mixing it.

Mexican 35% abv. 950ml. version, lote: LB1725A40235, bottled on 25-02-2017, tasted on 1-1-24. Color: light yellow. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, hint of fruit sweetness, alcohol sensation is medium, slightly earthy. Hint of honeydew. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, aroma & flavors are subtle. Finish is short to medium, hint of sweet cooked agave, light fruit sweetness with light earthiness persists, but not too long.

Great value for the money I’d say it’s almost as good as Sauza Conmemorativo and it’s cheaper too lol. I look forward to trying the blanco next

little bit grassy, a little bit of fruit, but not a whole lot of anything. good value sipper or cocktails. nothing unpleasant but nothing that grabs your attention either.
