Gorgeous nose. Agave, vanilla and caramel. Not heavy on the barrel. Tasted at the distillery. Great initial palate. More barrel on the plate than the nose. This is tasty and well worth space in n the shelf.

NOM 1646 Nose - Caramel and agave. Cinnamon. A bit of spice, maybe from the rye barrel influence. Slight butterscotch. Not as sweet as the 1480 but nice. The nose is more subtle. Palate - Roasted agave, caramel, baking spices, minerality. Again, more spice from the barrel and less sweet caramel/vanilla than 1480. It's cleaner and leans more into those barrel spices than overall sweetness. Finish - Medium finish with agave and light sweetness. Warm. Butterscotch without being really sweet. A bit of pepper and cinnamon...other spices but subtle. Ends with a dry oakiness.

Aroma: Cooked agave and vanilla lead, accented by black pepper, oak, wet grass, vegetal notes, and minerals for a fresh, complex nose. Palate: Cooked agave and vanilla dominate for me, with black pepper, oak, and vegetation adding spice and depth. Finish: Smooth oak and pepper fade with subtle vegetal hints, leaving a clean, lingering finish. Overall, good bottle. I wouldn’t buy the bottle again, but if it was what was available at a restaurant or friend’s house, then I would gladly sip it again. I prefer the cabal blanco over the repo.

a punch of sweet cooked agave, caramel, white oak, green herbs, and a really nice minerality that balances it all out nicely.

I really like the agave sweetness balanced with caramel & barrel spice. This is my favorite Reposado because it is so approachable.
