“Another example of a brand improving when they change distilleries. This is good stuff. Aromas of pine, mint, earth, hay/straw, wet grass, minerals, and some butterscotch. Flavor hits me with vanilla right away, then some caramel, cinnamon, nuts, and raisins, with a long agave finish. LOVE all the production details on the label! Thank you. ”

El Jimador Blanco Tequila

“This has the classic personality of a diffuser-made tequila: Eucalyptus, soapy, kind of musty aroma. Some people like this type of profile, but I’m not one of them. It’s lacking flavor, has a thinnish mouthfeel and ends up with a sweet finish. But it’s affordable, so it gets some points for that. ”

“Aroma of white chocolate, melon, peach, and fruit. Flavor is white chocolate, nuts, vanilla, fruit, and melon, all working elegantly together. This isn’t a heavily-aged añejo, but it’s aged just right so that agave is still present. Extremely balanced and easy to drink. ”

“Lot B-0224 | Everything from this brand is great, including this one. It’s a little bit more tame than the high proof blanco, being lower abv. But aromas here include minerals, floral, earth, olive, and of course, agave. Flavor is a little more simple, with a huge amount of cooked agave, backed by olive and brine. This is a gem of an agave spirit. Loving the oily mouthfeel (even at 40%) and it has a medium+ length finish. There’s a crazy amount of cooked agave lingering on the palate after everything else fades away. Nicely crafted!”

Codigo 1530 Still Strength Blanco

“This aroma/flavor combo is hitting my sweet spot. I’ve had this bottle for at least 4 years, and never opened it until today. Maybe all that time resting in the bottle has worked some magic, but I’m really loving this stuff. Aromas of cinnamon, ripe agave, and some earthy fermentation funk from the used wine barrel fermentation. Flavor matches, with cooked agave, cinnamon, and earth. Mouthfeel is super silky and extremely oily. This is a still strength product at 45% abv, but it drinks like a 40% easy-sipper. This is now one of those bottles that I am afraid to run out of. This is super underrated in my opinion. ”

Nosotros Tequila Reposado

“First off, I like the products from the new NOM a lot better. Congrats to the brand for making such a wise upgrade. The resulting tequilas are full of unique character that brings the agave forward. Bravo. On this new reposado I'm getting aromas of earth, tobacco, anise, hay, agave, black pepper, and a unique aroma that reminds me of over-ripened fruit. Definitely interesting. Flavor leads with agave, then caramel, anise, hay, and then some melon. Everything blends together and plays nicely in the mouth, it just feels like all of the flavors are working together in harmony. Medium length finish and mouthfeel, and I feel like agave gets the last word toward the end of the finish, when everything else fades away, it's the agave that remains.”

Montagave 'Exploración' Volume I Añejo

“Aromas of dried fruit, cherry, raisin, hazelnut, and butter. Quite nice aroma, actually. Flavors of barrel spice, peach, butter and assorted roasted nuts. It's got a LONG long finish, which is enjoyable, but I just wish there was more agave here. The barrel notes are a little too dominant, but it's still an excellent spirit.”
