Polanco Organic Blanco Tequila This is a solid new tequila coming out of NOM1633 - Casa Loy. It’s made with some traditional methods. Organic agave cooked in a stone brick oven, Tahona crushed, fermented in stainless steel, distilled in copper pot stills, using deep well water and then rested in American oak ex bourbon barrels. The bottle is made from recycled glass by the same people that make the Fortaleza bottles. They are embossed but also have paper labels and a cork with a wood topper. On the nose I’m getting fresh agave, white pepper, citrus zest, a slight vegetal note and some minerals. The taste is very similar to the nose. There’s some sweet agave, citrus, vegetal, minerals, some alcohol and white pepper on the finish. Overall it has a rustic taste with a bright nose and a medium peppery finish. The minerals run into the finish which I like.

Vessel: Glencairn Nose: Cinnamon, Butter, Citrus, Stonefruit, Melon Flavor: Jalapeño, Melon, Vanilla Finish: Cooked Agave, Anise, Honey With a name like Polanco, I had my doubts. To me, the name sounds more like a vodka brand than a tequila brand. Still, I gave this a fair shake and it did not disappoint.

Lot L25817A A great new brand for a mixing blanco. Also, it's certified organic if that is something that's important to you.

Solid juice with limited availability. There are blancos coming out with big budgets and much higher msrp that can’t compete with Polanco. It’s def worth a grab around 50 bucks. Tahona crushed, B corp certified and organic for 50 that’s pretty good
