Initial nose has overly cooked/stewed fruit with a slight funk to it. Maybe some candied cherry. As it opens up it becomes less intense.
On the palate there’s an initial medicinal burst with faint candied fruit. Hints of mint and anise. Not much burn at all. Clean mouthfeel.
Very short finish with some white pepper.
This had a lot of stages of scent and flavors over a 10 min span as it opened up but nothing overly complex and was fairly muted over time. A decent mixer for the price.
Light and very easy drinking anejo with subtle sweetness. Not a bourbon mimic, this has a lot of agave still present. Excellent, affordable anejo option.
