This is an example of the barrel being able to salvage a less than great blanco. The weird aroma of the Tio Billy blanco is still evident, hiding under oak, but the wood totally saves it. Not much character to this, but it is drinkable. Finish is a little scratchy in the throat.
Has a defect in the smell- solvent?- but it’s covered by barrel notes of caramel and vanilla. Has an astringent finish, like the blanco.
Smells and tastes like cake batter. Initially got a green agave aroma but it faded as it opened up. Thin in the mouth at 38% abv. with astringent finish.
Not a fan of the aroma on this. Has green agave, pine, alcohol, and a slight tails-like defect. Flavor is sweet and simple. Slight astringency in the finish.
even nose of agave, pepper and citrus. smooth great easy cooked agave up front. easy pepper ride down the gullet with a sweet finish. very nice.
