On the nose there’s a lot of cooked agave with some faint floral vapors. There’s minerality, natural sweetness and some muted lemon zest. It’s clean and pleasant. I taste the cooked agave. It’s up front and followed by the citrus zest. The sweetness is balanced with the other flavors. The zesty black pepper starts to kick in. Overall this is a solid blanco. It’s agave and citrus with some nice zest.

A hint of citrus lifts the profile just enough, while honeysuckle adds a delicate floral touch, keeping the aromas both inviting and refined. Palate & Mouthfeel: The texture is medium oily, carrying earthy agave front and center. White pepper drives the spice, joined by a savory leather nuance and a faint herbal streak. The balance leans savory but stays tethered to the agave throughout. Finish: Savory tones linger, and as the spice tapers off, a soft yeasty impression remains that is reminiscent of rising dough. Final Thoughts: A tequila that balances earthy and savory elements with a gentle floral lift. The yeasty echo on the finish sets it apart.

Palate & Mouthfeel: Full-bodied, with oak and agave leading before dark cherry and barrel spice step in. Vanilla and caramel bring a smooth sweetness, rounded by a touch of butter. There’s a mild drying astringency, but it stays in check. The spice is persistent yet balanced, layered with that leathery edge and a hint of tobacco leaf. Finish: Spicy, sweet, and gently bitter - woven together in harmonious balance. Final Thoughts: Deep, complex, and bold, yet carrying a refined nuance throughout. While my own preference leans toward less-aged profiles (the VI Extra Añejo is my sweet spot), there’s no denying how well crafted this is. For those who favor aged agave with real depth, this one will hit the mark.

Vanilla and cinnamon follow, joined by anise and a light black pepper bite. Orange zest brings a crisp edge, while cherry and apricot deliver a ripe, rounded fruitiness that ties neatly into the spice and oak. Finish: Warming and sweet, yet kept in check, with barrel spice lingering just long enough to leave a lasting impression. Final Thoughts: An outstanding añejo with remarkable balance and depth, especially at around $120. It’s expressive without being overdone, delivering both richness and restraint. The only drawback- it’s not readily available in my neck of the woods. Thank goodness for online shopping.
Nose: Sweet and inviting right out of the glass. You get cherry and ripe berries up front, with vanilla rounding things out and a solid base of cooked agave and oak. It’s got that desserty vibe without going overboard. Palate & Mouthfeel: The flavors from the nose carry through nicely with cherry, vanilla, and sweet cooked agave being joined by a touch of anise and a warm pepper kick that gives it some depth. The mouthfeel is smooth and balanced, with just enough heat to keep it interesting. Finish: That warm spice from the anise and pepper lingers in a really pleasant way. Not overpowering, just cozy. Final Thoughts: Definitely on the sweeter side, but really well done. Easy to sip, full of flavor, and an excellent value for what you’re getting.
