Great Extra Anejo from Rey Sol (San Mathias, perfect tequila for a bourbon bro to get introduced into tequila. The price is what hurts this in points but still a great pour.

Significant barrel influence from new American oak & new French oak barrels. Tons of caramel, vanilla, and honey on this extra anejo. This flavor profile is sure to win any whiskey lover over!

I found this to have a light nose compared to some other prized XAs. What I do get is nice with agave and butter and a bit of oak. Taste is fantastic. Buttery toffee, sweet cooked agave, light oak and caramel. A bit of cognac to the finish. Very nice. Not all pretty bottles have bad juice.

The lovely bottle brightened the room, especially since it was raining outside. It was a nice amber color in the glass. Aroma of caramel, oak and butter. Flavor of caramel, oak, cooked agave and some black pepper. The finish didn't last as long as expected. I was surprised to see this distillery also makes Pueblo Viejo, one of my bargain favorites. This one takes a hit in value for being 10 times the price.
