“Ajúa! There comes a time when you connect with a particular spirit for some reason. This bottle was that. Everything that is great about tequila shows up. Cooked, sweet agave, smoke, earthy funk, pepper, nopales, iodine. There’s a post-rain, clean, floral note that I can’t place exactly but unbelievably attractive. The balance is the star, with all these just dancing around each other while emphasizing the agave. The difference in process couldn’t be more apparent. I’m hooked. ”

“This is more of the peppery, vegetal, savory type of profile I enjoy greatly. Easy heat on the finish, with the peppery spice being more prominent post swallow. Enough sweetness to balance but not be the main characteristic. Classic continue to do well for me, could be the nostalgia. ”

“Serviceable and easy. No real character, aside from the vanilla which is likely an additive. Not enough barrel presence for a repo. Inexpensive and would be good on a bar cart, made a great Ranch Water. ”

“Solid tequila and I see why it’s as popular as it is. It came across a little thin and light on the nose and finish, but that’s a personal preference. Eager to try the Repo and Añejo. ”

“This is a more earthy tequila which I prefer. Mineral is prominent on the nose and finish, peppery, but never outshines the agave. The agave flavor is more cooked than green and mates well with the earthy profile. Picked up some faint unsweet cantaloupe on the mid palate. At $32 regular and on sale for $27, is a great bottle. ”

“Very vanilla forward, agave is green and present, not overpowered by the vanilla. It does taste like an additive so on that I’d say drink only if you’re not wary of additives. It’s a good tequila. ”
