“Solid reposado this Gritona was. On the nose it hits you immediately with black pepper and the smell of alcohol. Had some hints of thyme and was a bit herby and vegetal with the last notes being the agave. On the tongue the black pepper and alcohol were prominent. The agave sweetness followed soon after along with the notes of herbs, barrel spice, minerals, and orange peel to round out its medium finish. I would say there are much better reposados you can get for the price but this is a solid choice still. Salud!”

El Tesoro Tequila Reposado

“This is a phenomenal reposado. On the nose I got some brine, alcohol, agave, oak, black pepper, and smoke notes. On the tongue, I could taste the black pepper and smoke. The sweetness of the agave came right after as well as a charcoal taste to it. Alcohol, whiskey, vanilla, caramel, and some minerality also came to me to round out this full bodied tequila. A nice long finish that coats your mouth and leaves you wanting more. Salud!”

“Doesn’t get much better for the price point this reposado comes at. On the nose, I got the sweet smell of agave, smoke, black pepper, and some brine. On the tongue, it was an explosion of agave, black pepper, smoke, bell pepper, barrel spice, oak, and vegetable. You can definitely taste the alcohol as well but it’s not overwhelming or at the forefront by any means. It had a slight bitterness on the tail end of its long finish. Salud! ”

“This is a very solid choice for an añejo. On the nose I got white pepper, agave, whiskey, barrel spice, herbs, and a slight hint of cheese. On the tongue, it is a nice and savory tequila with notes of white pepper, agave, herbs, and barrel spice. It coats the mouth well, is easy to drink, and has a medium finish to it. Goes very well in a Oaxacan old fashioned. Salud!”

Tapatio Añejo

“This tequila is solid for the value it provides. On the nose I got agave, pepper, brine and alcohol. On the tongue I got brine, pepper, bell pepper, oak, barrel spice, and whiskey. It was not as agave forward as I hoped for in an añejo. It was bold, smokey, and had a long finish which I did like. Overall, it’s good for the price point but I would choose other añejos over this one for sure. Salud!”

“This is a delicious tequila. Upon smelling it, I got oak right off the bat followed by the sweet smell of the agave. I also smelled some pepper and a very slight funkiness to the smell as well. On the tongue it tasted excellent. It was a bit briney and it tasted sweet, oily, and had some caramel notes to it. Overall it was soft and nice to sip on as it went down very nicely. Salud!”

“This tequila is amazing. It smells flavorful and not overpowering. Upon first sip, I got the sweetness of agave right off the bat. As it went down I was able to taste oak and vanilla with some pepper on the tip of the tongue. It doesn’t have a particularly long finish but more of a medium finish. On the second sip I was able to taste caramel and butterscotch. It was definitely an extremely pleasant tequila to sip and not mix. Salud!”
