cooked agave black pepper cinnamon jump forward then settle into some carmel vanilla and orange. The flavor has a punch of black pepper and cinnamon up front and in the finish while cooked agave carmel and a light fruit/orange flavor come together for a quick finish I visited this again and enjoyed it more the second time around after letting it “open up for 10 ish mins before sipping. Finding Partida more and more underrated than the first time I tried it.

NOM 1502 | The nose may be the most disappointing component of this tequila. Everything is muted and blends together. I do get agave and barrel. The taste is better at separating notes. I get agave first, followed by barrel flavors of oak, vanilla and caramel. I bit of black pepper. The finish I good. I really don’t have much experience with NOM 1502 but this is good, not excellent.

Aroma: Plenty of Agave at the forefront. The typical barrel contributions of Oak, Vanilla, Caramel, and Cinnamon are very present. The Vanilla and Caramel notes are pleasantly sweet, but not overpoweringly sweet. Those sweeter tones are accompanied by some Candied Orange Peels and Peach. There's also some Herbal notes that keep this grounded. And for good measure there is a nice Floral scent that comes through. Taste: Oak and Agave are immediately taken in along with a Spicy Black Pepper and Cinnamon punch. That Spiciness is definitely in the Blanco and where this comes from. Once the the spicy notes die down the Vanilla and Caramel sweetness cool things down. A Fruitiness from Candied Orange, Peach, and even a light Dried Cherry come through. Again the this is balanced with a little Herbal and Earthy taste. Finish: This has a very long Spicy Cinnamon and Black Pepper finish that carries the Oak, Agave, and Caramel all the way to the next sip. Salud! TMM 85 Partida Añejo

Pleasant aromas of toasted cinnamon bread, agave, oak, caramel, and green apple, lead into more mellow vegetal notes coupled with black pepper. Flavors of cinnamon spice across the palate blend with brown sugar and agave, quite flavorful overall. On the finish, some anise and black pepper, as well as a spicy cinnamon somewhat akin to a piece of Hot Tamales candy.

Fairly middle of the road offering. On the thin side, pepper, butter, and oak notes. Actually think the reposado is a better tequila.

NOM 1502 | Nose: Agave kissed with round sweet oak. Cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and leather. Whipped cream tinged with sweet orange liqueur and dusted with powdered sugar. Flavors: Cinnamon, mellow white pepper heat, caramel and filbert nuttiness. Vanilla follows the nose, with the addition of almonds and lush tropical fruit. Medium body. The añejo is a far better expression than its younger siblings. Finish: Not as complex a tequila as you will find in their new Roble Fino line. But a pleasant sip indeed.

NOM 1502 | Mmmmmm this is delicious, lures you in with a butterscotch & minty nose and doesn’t disappoint with follow through. Lots of agave left with delicate barrel influence, this feels like it still has the personality of the brand and not the barrel. A well made product.

NOM 1454 | The aroma is super oak heavy with a hint of mint. The flavor too is extremely oak heavy and slightly metallic... Not my favorite combo of flavors. The finish is long and builds nicely. This might be a good Anejo for someone who is more of a fan of barrel heavy tequila (potentially whiskey drinkers?). For me, it's too much barrel and overpowers everything else.

Very front of mouth. Complex flavor. Not particularly smooth.

The aroma opens with cooked agave, caramel, vanilla, and butter, followed by oak and black pepper. There's a nice warmth from the cinnamon and butterscotch that rounds everything out without overpowering the agave. On the palate, cooked agave stays front and center with layers of vanilla, caramel, oak, and black pepper. The butter note gives it a smooth, creamy mouthfeel, while the cinnamon adds just enough spice to keep it interesting. The finish is long and lingering, carrying the oak, pepper, and cooked agave well after the sip. It does have a tiny bit of harshness at the very end, but not enough to take away from an otherwise enjoyable añejo.

PALATE: Led by deep, oaky caramel/butterscotch & baking spices, dried tropical fruits, the green notes from the nose, black pepper – prominent oak tannin bitterness starts the finish before balancing with the sweet & earthy, vegetal notes. FINISH: 6-7 seconds MOUTHFEEL/VISCOSITY: Medium viscosity in the glass & a medium-creamy mouthfeel; a creaminess is pronounced even on the nose.
