NOM 1522 | Sampled at Distillery visit Sept 2018

  • 87 Rating

NOM 1560 | Nose: Lots of undercurrents in the aroma. Ripe dark cherries, rich agave, minerals, a whisper of oak, a kiss of nutmeg and a fleeting cheesy note. Flavors: Buttery in the mouth. Creamy vanilla and almonds with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and white pepper. Some mild tannins peeking through. Finish is elegant, but there is some bitterness and astringency.

NOM 1560 | Whisky and melon, sweet cooked agave aromas. Pleasant but slightly sharp finish.

NOM 1560 | LJCR217, acquired recently, tasted on 6-28-25. Color: dark yellow. Aroma: light cooked agave, vanilla, light wood note, light acidity, hint of resinous sweetness that as time goes on dissipates and wood note becomes more intense. Hint of pepper spiciness. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, although it has a hint of resinous sweetness, however, the wood note slightly dominates, vanilla. Finish is medium to medium long, hint of cooked agave, light pepper spiciness with vanilla note persists.

NOM 1560 | In view: nice wheat color 2/4, transparent and clean, golden shoulders and reflections with some silver tones. In nose: have a low alcoholic impact, with note of oak, peeper and citrus aroma, present caramel butter, vanilla and a touch of chocolate. In mouth: confirms the pepper flavor and laurel, with some caramel flavor and nuts. Oak present. Highly recommendable tequila to enjoy neat or on the rocks.

Nose is light, not too much agave coming through but I do enjoy the honey and barrel that is at the forefront. I found it a bit medicinal on the palette and through the finish. A lingering heat through the finish with some barrel sweetness.
