Gonna be up front here. I did not really expect to like this tequila. Fancy bottle, celebrity owned. So you may wonder why I bought it. Dak Prescott and I come from the same little town in Louisiana he’s the QB for the football team I have loved since the late 1960s. It was purely an emotional purchase. The one thing that I thought it may have going for it is that is came from the same distillery as Chamucos and I really like that tequila. Tasted out of a Glencarin with a Cowboys logo on the side. Right off the bat I get that malolactic nose. Not to the level of Chamucos but it’s there and of course I like it. A nice swirl brings out the agave. This is earthy and has a nice minerality. I get a bit of fresh baked bread. On the palate sweet agave comes first. I get jalapeño pepper, lowlands earthiness. Mint and citrus. Cinnamon for sure. A touch of alcohol on the finish. Malolactic on the palate is faint but there. For me, that’s a good thing. I’m pleasantly surprised by the quality of this tequila. This is a $60 tequila in a very nice looking bottle (reminds me of Volcan’s tall bottles). I could easily serve this to tequila friends and would expect they would like it

Aroma: (21)Agave, black pepper, earth Taste: (26)Sweet agave, black pepper, minerals, & hint of citrus. Finish: (22) Nice lingering finish of agave & black pepper. Value: (7) $42 from Remedy liquor Overall (86). It probably want become a standard on my bar but Volteo is better than a lot of other celebrity tequilas.

I had a sample of this a little while ago. It tasted of: Agave, vegetal, mineral, pepper, and citrus. It was good but not worth the price.

Sweet earthiness, mineral notes. Don't get citrus fruits. Website is terrible, won't let you read about products without a shipping zip code.

Bit of malo-lactic funk on the nose (not a fan) but otherwise fragrant with hints of flora, agave and brine. Nice adhesion in the glass. Medium-silky mouthfeel. Really nice, bold agave-sweetness on the palate. Not necessarily complex, but clean. Finish is cinnamon-spicy and long. Enjoyable sipper (once I get past the nose!). ;)
