Light straw color. First hit on the nose is wood and alcohol. Light spices and trace agave notes. Not much there. Bitter off flavors. Borderline undrinkable. Although the fill line was good, perhaps the bottle has exceeded its useful time on earth.....
From the same time frame as the oxidized añejo. No evaporation apparent here and even though only 35% abv, this is a nice agave and oak flavored, slightly sweet reposado.
Bottle from 2002. Some oxidation has left this 38% abv añejo with some soapy notes on entry. Not a fan of that.
Uncle D Spieker - thank you for the introduction to this tasty old school gem! Nose is herbaceous, hints of mint, some stone fruits essence. Quite nice. Hits with sweet agave, some pepper, stone fruits essence again ..some brine and pepper. Med to long kiss of sweetness finish. Nice old school .
If you happen to find one of these don’t pass it up .. This is from NOM1488 and is so good The nose is earthy and herbal with cooked agave and citrus notes. Taste is very similar to the aroma with sweet agave forward and earthy herbal notes balanced out with white pepper and citrus. Finish is medium to long and the sweetness of the agave just doesn’t want to leave the palate! Not produced any more but if you like OldSkol tequilas you will really appreciate this one
