This brand has some really solid offerings. The Tahona blanco is clean with nothing added. It’s very easy to drink with great earthy minerality. I hope they release this at a higher proof because I tried a sample and it was fantastic. This Tahona is going to be at a great price point which will be a really good introduction to the brand if you’re not familiar.
Lots of cooked agave in the aroma and flavor here. But that's not all. On the nose I am getting earth, black pepper, lime, hay, limestone, and wet cement. This is the classic tahona and fermented-with-fiber profile that I find enjoyable. The flavor has prominent mint and cinnamon, with a tiny bit of white pepper rounding it out. The mouthfeel has a full body and is quite oily, and the finish has a pleasant sweet sensation. Overall this is a nicely crafted product.
Heat and pepper. not much else...
