Cooked agave comes forward with a raw, earthy edge, joined by fresh vegetal tones. Brine and citrus lift it with brightness, while black pepper comes through, giving it both sharpness and depth. Palate & Mouthfeel: Medium full in body, coating yet nimble. Cooked agave holds steady, layered with black pepper and a savory touch of salted butter. Citrus adds a clean snap, while cinnamon and vanilla bring warmth without overwhelming. The vegetal notes reappear, tying the flavors back to the nose in a seamless way. Finish: Balanced and deliberate, with agave, black pepper, and vanilla moving in unison. It lingers with presence but cleans up gracefully, never overstaying. Final Thoughts: Batch 7 shows remarkable clarity - a standout blanco that manages intensity and balance in equal measure. A bottle well worth seeking.
Ensueno batch 2 Nose cinnamon brine agave. palate same. Finish nice warm cinnamon agave and pepper. I've only tried batch 1. I like batch 2 a tad more. looking forward to trying the other batches.
Lot 4 | Ensueno ages their blancos for a very short time in premium whiskey barrels. I believe Weller. Beautiful nose of agave, citrus, orange, honey and butter. I could smell this all day. This is also delicious on the palate with some agave, citrus, cinnamon, brine, vanilla, pepper and oak. This is not your typical blanco so if you’re a blanco purist, you may be let down. For me, I am loving it.
Nose is muted at first pour. Opens up after a bit of time. The wheated barrel is bit is bit over powering the agave. Notes of green Apple vanilla and citrus are present. Palate is barrel forward, cooled agave, minerals and pepper. Finish is briney cooked agave, earthy. Great mouth feel
