Nose: Cooked agave comes through first, wrapped in a layer of oak and vanilla. Cinnamon spice lingers in the background, while crème brûlée adds a soft, sweet creaminess. A light note of dried berries edges in, giving the profile a slightly tart undercurrent beneath the richer tones. Palate & Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel leans medium-thin, with caramel arriving early before a touch of oak astringency takes hold. Agave and vanilla follow, though feels a bit subdued. Barrel spice is generous, almost dominating, while citrus and dried berries push in with a sharper, tangy edge that adds brightness but also tips the balance. Finish: Clean and quick, with only a faint trace of the agave, citrus and spice hanging on. Final Thoughts: There’s a distinctive sharpness here that leans into tart dried berry territory, but it doesn’t sit comfortably with the rest of the profile. The agave is present but overshadowed by an abundance of barrel spice, leaving the whole experience feeling a touch unbalanced.

Reminds me of Juan Lobo, also from 1414. Oak, smoke, some barrel notes of toasted oak. Less ethanol spike on the finish. Thanks tequila.diva for the sample
