Same as other CD, no agave flavor at all, fake sweetness with some oak
So had the opportunity to try the whole lineup of CD, not a fan of this special release, has some sweet flavor but not my thing. Oak foward, no agave, vanilla sweetener.
Aroma is all black pepper and dirt with a hint of citrus. Very strange flavor that begins with almost nothing then evolves to a sweet, plastic-y phase and eventually some spice. After all the talk of how horrible it is I’m mostly surprised by how there is practically nothing in the flavor. Finish is very short. I would call this the incredible disappearing tequila. Even if you put the price aside (which is kind of hard to do because it is high) this is just not good tequila. Or, is it really tequila at all. So many better things to do with your money. And, if someone says the pepita bottle makes a great decanter, you can find really nice decanters for a lot less money too. 2026-04-18
Great nose: cooked agave and a citrus fruitiness. Peppery in taste and finish, with a touch of grapefruit.
