At 35% ABV, you are not getting a very robust nose, but pleasant enough. Caramel, a blend of cedar & pine, a dash of vanilla, and ripe berry like fruit. The flavor volume is turned up significantly as compared to the nose. Vanilla wafers, black pepper heat, brown jerk spices and roasted almonds. Finish is “shortish” with a sweet/ hot/ velvety feel. Mexican 35% release, priced at $215 pesos. Nose: Somewhat subdued aromas that take some work to ferret out. Pineapple, light earth, a touch of vanilla and a vague root vegetable note. Flavor: Pepper front and center, a nondescript sweetness, a persisting tannic bitterness. A hint of cinnamon towards the finish.
Pleasing nose. Rounded fruit, floral and agave start. Moves into medium baking spices, mint and light pepper. Not a long or spectacular finish, but decent. Good value. Mexican 35% version about $12.00 usd.

Found this dusty bottle on the shelf of a Mexican Grocery store. Mild nose with oak, cooked agave, and a little fruit. Do get a mild alcohol on the nose. First taste is oak. Get a peppery taste, which I didn’t expect from an anejo. Light vanilla on the finish.
