The barrel really helps to smooth out the fairly harsh Blanco. This is a decent repo.

This is inexpensive, really inexpensive at an So. CA online retailer so was given + score for value. A single barrel store pick this has an underlying cinnamon note that I'm not much of a fan of in general but it doesn't overwhelm the taste or aroma to the point of being one note. Some agave and spicy wood notes help this reposado show nice flavors and makes for a not uninteresting experience from this brand that has a bit of history in the market. Noticable ethanol brings a fairly long finish to the mouth and tongue with some fading sweetness.

NOM 1143 | Decent nose with agave notes evident but not overpowering. Nose gets better the more time it sits in the glass. After 10 min I started detecting a scent similar to baked cookies - bread, sugar, chocolate. Gently sweet flavor with mild oak and green wood. Long slightly tangy finish.

NOM 1143 | Aroma and flavor of oak, caramel and baked agave. The oak was a bit to dominate for my taste. Medium body and finish.

NOM 1143 | Batch 503, bottle 281. Strong agave aroma that is almost medicinal (not in a good way). Medicinal character carries over into flavor. For all the heavy/strong aroma and flavor, the finish is surprisingly weak. Some heat lingers at the front of the mouth.

Aroma of cooked agave and citrus Flavor of cooked agave and oak Finishes smoothly and cleanly with an alcohol tingle. Honestly, this is a bit simple, but inoffensive. I don't think this is worth sipping. But, it's good for cocktails. And, for only $30 USD it's a great price.

NOM 1603 | A nice, fairly smooth sipper. The front has good mineral and agave notes which punch through the aging with a little delayed heat, and a slight bitterness on the finish. It was a liquor-store-selected barrel for $36, so it’s a decent bottle for margaritas, but doesn’t hit like some of my better bottles.

NOM 1603 | The particular Reposado I’m drinking is the Cafe Tequila Reposado. Aged for 3 months in coffee-seasoned bourbon barrels. Adds a lovely chocolate and coffee flavor. Very easy to sip on if you like a “seasoned” tequila.

All the notes here feel muddled and confused, making them difficult to discern from one another. Certainly priced right, though, and would do fine for a cocktail.

COLOR: Light straw yellow   AROMA PROFILE: a very fruit-forward nose with cooked agave sweetness with lots of baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, cloves), vanilla & light caramel, light citrus, spiced oak/barrel notes, dried herbs & ginger, & black & white pepper.  The spice profile mixes with oak & a “spiced butter” note.  The nose has a musk-like note of raw agave in the background.   PALATE: Cooked agave & baking spices, black & white pepper, spicy ginger, fruit, vanilla & spiced caramel, a buttery quality, light citrus, herbal notes, & oak/barrel notes.   MOUTHFEEL: Medium   FINISH: Fairly short (4-5 seconds) with the fruity spice & pepper lasting longest   VALUE: Solid mixing reposado & a nice “daily” sipper

NOM 1603 | Slightly sweet and woody aroma. Some vanilla and agave flavor. Peppery finish.

NOM 1603 | I was pleasantly surprised by this. Sure it seems to have additives but if I like it I don’t mind. Didn’t get the vanilla much, only as a lingering taste a few minutes after my last sip. Much more oak, agave and a nutty flavor. Bit of a sweet aroma that wasn’t strong, and a little pepper which helps make this better. Goes down easy, was a pretty good value of $32 on sale before another $8 in tax. I would buy it again and think it’s a decent repo, especially for those newer to tequila that want to go beyond really sweet brands.

Hints of kiwi skin, crisp.

I can definitely taste the agave....bathing, then breathing out after coating the throat, that Mexican soil is an essence of that beautiful plant!!!! God love the Agave! This is a decent brand with a decent expression. It is a very reasonably priced tequila that is pleasant to sip. Not my all time fave, but an easy GO TO.

Smooth

I got this for $30 in my area. It is a smooth reposado that is a great value and flavor profile. All the people that tried it commented “that’s smooth!” Bottle is great presentation too. Everything fits with value, flavor expression, and presentation!

Neither the agave nor the wood comes through strong enough to leave much of an impression. I don't taste the vanilla that others say is the predominant flavor. It's clearly been processed heavily and infused with additives, but a strong hint of pepper at the finish gives it a bit of a kick that, after multiple sips, is oddly satisfying. At the exceptionally low price point, it's still a bargain with if you like pepper. For everyone else, a serviceable mixer at best.

I didn't care for this. It was mostly okay, but had a sour-ish taste to it.

When the bottle was first opened, there was a distinct smell and aftertaste that reminded me of cilantro: kind of a soapy taste. Maybe tannins? Someone with more knowledge can probably tell you. After a couple of weeks of being opened, it still had a hint of the unpleasant scent, but no longer had the taste. It tastes very well after the mystery flavor goes away.
