Nose: Big fruit, agave and caramel beginning. There are some yeasty, lactic notes, and a hint of caraway. Palate: Viscous. Cherry, butterscotch, and piquant pepper. Agave still front and center with baking spices. A hint of ginger. Finishes in a long peppery fashion. Of special note: This is an additive free line of tequilas.

This wasn’t as much of a surprise because I began with the añejo. The first sip is smooth and velvet-like. Hints of fruit jump onto your palette as the subtle sweetness of agave balances your tastebuds. There is a light pepper that dances on your tongue to awaken your senses. That pepper lingers on your tongue, lips and cheeks before slowly dissipating as you prepare for another sip. Each sip welcomes the next! I’m glad I came across this bottle but fear it may no longer be available.
