Tasted at Distillery, Additive Free week

Distillery tour tasting. Flavors of agave, pepper, sight sour, citrus. Not bad for a budget brand with a blend that includes some diffuser juice. I don’t need to sip this one, but as a replacement for Cuervo that would be a huge upgrade.

Very surprised this one gets an AMM star. The nose is quite pleasant, actually, but there's almost certainly some fake sweetness in there. The finish literally made me shutter. Casa Loy is trying to make some changes for the better and my hope this is just an older bottle. I'm going to try aging it with a stave to see how it changes.

Definitely lacks character for sipping. A good choice for mixing.

Lote: LOT 1BTD35, bottled on 12-01-2023, tasted on 10-16-23. Aroma: light cooked agave, light acidity, a touch of earthiness, it has a cotton candy sweetness that doesn’t feel natural. Light black pepper. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, the cotton candy sweetness is evident on the palate. Finish is medium to medium long, a touch of cooked agave with light black pepper and cotton candy sweetness persists.
