“A solid mixto, the piloncillo they have as a sugar source adds a certain complexity to the flavor, but it gives it a truly "mixed" drink feel, vs other higher quality 70/30 mixtos where the agave notes are more apparent, but muted. I found the finish to be somewhat shorter than what I expected.”

“A truly awesome tequila! My person favorite when it comes to "high proof" tequila that I was able to sample at the distillery, unfortunately unavailable on the market currently. Still, even their official Mexican releases at 38 % abv versions are great. The older local design is less filtered(my personal preference) and has a fruity, peachy character, especially at higher alc levels (apart from.the agave notes) and the newer design seems to be more herbal with a nice vegetal finish. Rating tries to represent the avg of both. ”

“This nice little blanco Tequila has become one of my favorites. Currently I find this tequila to be the best value Tequila and a great example of a traditional Valley tequila. Lots of agave aromas, even if you pour it on your palm you will immediately feel that it has a lot of agave value in it. As for the taste it is super unique. Apart from the usual peppery, agave notes, this tequila has a certain licorice taste to it which can be heavier or lighter depending on the batch the one I currently drink (lote 1051) is well balanced and it has a nice acidity and a long finish. This tequila is great to mix with even simple water - just add a dash into your water and enjoy!”

“Felipe Camarena's monster tequila delivers.. Some may find it's nose lacking but I personally love the rich cooked agave nose and I don't mind if I don't smell anything else.(we're here to drink tequila after all) As for the taste, this Tequila probably has the longest finish for a 40% abv I have tasted. It starts with classic highland agave, peppery notes coupled with some zesty acidic apple taste followed by a very long vegetal finish. ”

“This tequila is the brother of the legendary G4! Very nosey, gives lots of aromas to those who love to "sniff" tequilas. Agave, peachy, minty, grassy, citrus aromas on the nose and peppery, pepperminty flavor burst turning into fruity with peach/melon notes ending in a nice vegetal finish.”

“Great example of a well made Valle tequila. I would recommend anyone to try this tequila if looking for some of the regional characters of the Valley of Tequila. Full of agave from beginning to the end. There is an initial burst of flavors with some minty and peppery notes that hit the tongue but then recedes giving space to a lighter mineral tone with a long finish with herbal characters.”

“Siete Leguas is probably the most respected tequila of the people of Jalisco. It does deliver on its high reputation. Lots of agave, butter and honey on the nose, which carry through to the flavor and the finish converts into a nice vegetal taste with the agave still remaining a dominant factor.”

“One of the tequilas that is a must try for anyone serious about tequila. Tapatio is the house brand of the Camarena family from 1937 and they do everything to conserve its essence for the locals. Great acidity, very well balanced. Peppermint, fruity, agave and mineral notes make it a very vibrant enjoyable iconic tequila.”

“To me this is the value tequila I would recommend anyone to try owned by the respected Orendain family. This tequila usually beats all the others of its price range. Its aromas are somewhat lacking and I prefer to have a more masculine taste but the finish is really nice with lots of cooked agave that is really long and makes this tequila really enjoyable!”

“I love Sophie and her work so my rating could be biased.. However since others rated this tequila so high my feelings may not cloud this judgement too much. This is an extremely unique tequila that is a must try for anyone serious about tequilas. Most producers I met kind of despise these small "criollo" agaves, yet this tequila contradicts that. An amazing expression I love how long the finish is and how it evolves. To me it is kind of earthy and minty on the nose with agave notes. It has a nice long finish with peppery, minty, agave flavors, than it evolves into jusicy acidic fruity like apple and then in the end it has some vegetable, earthy, drier feel to it. It feels like riding a rollercoaster.”

“I use Don Fulano for many of my tequila tastings and I consider this reposado to be a great example to use French oak aging! The denser French oak seemed to allow to conserve more of the aroma of the original tequila, I get lots of cooked agave on the nose and the flavor. The nose also gives me raisin and honey aromas too. I love how this reposado's taste evolves from the initial cooked agave burst to be paired with "classic" Highland peppery notes and just tiny hints of flavors from the barrel. It feels almost like a blanco with a tiny little extra touch from the wood.”
