“The mouthfeel of this is remarkable, especially for the price. Silky, light texture on the tongue, yet oily both on the sides of one's cheeks and in the glass. The nose is agave-forward. The citrus notes are unique: a bit of lime leaf and lemon sorbet. With a sip I detected more agave, only toasted. There is quite a bit of minerality, like chalky limestone. This is something of a Sancerre for tequila. I'll be sipping it neat or over ice with a slice of cucumber. Though, for the price, this would make a guilt-free base for many cocktails.”

“Truly LALO on the nose and palate. The only distinguishing element "on paper" is that the liquid in this glass came from a single horno (stone/brick oven). Sweet and full-flavored, plenty of complexity from the agave which has been left unadulterated by additives or oak. My only point of criticism is that, although unique, this glass could have been given a more harmonious and balanced profile if blended between a wider set of batches. ”

“The nose is saturated with caramel and butterscotch, which is great if that's what you like to drink, but is not indicative of quality. On the tongue it is unnaturally sweet. This glass isn't complex, though the finish is smooth. This is likely why the brand has popularity among those who shoot rather than sip.”

“Bold aroma and flavor, though a bit of an off finish. Toasted agave with plenty of bitter citrus and white pepper. I actually love the intensity. You won't find it in my cabinet with my sippers, but you will always see it on my bar cart. ”

LALO Tequila Blanco

“Very clean (little-to-no ethanol on the nose) with ripe, juicy agave and creamy sweetness, which we know is a natural sweetness as this is additive free. A bit of baking spice like cinnamon, which surprised me as this has spent no time in oak. Perhaps a result of the cooking process. I have to concur with the distillery's tasting notes and mention that there is a warm, baked sweet potato component to the nose, though it subsides a bit once sipped. ”
