Tequila Primo 1861 Blanco (NOM 1579)
“After trying several expressions masterfully created by Felipe Camarena….. this is no different. On the nose for me: freshly poured I get a slight tinge and burn from evaporating alcohol at 86 proof it definitely smells stronger. Once the alcohol tinge melts away I find a juicy, roasted agave scent it’s very inviting in my opinion, followed by sharp minerality and a peppery vegetal nuance. Tasting notes: well after i poured it, I touched my tongue to a droplet on the bottle (my house my rules) I was surprised at the intensely Sweet sensation I detected. first sip, was a strong very peppery Agave. Followed by a smooth just so slight warmth, little did I know it would melt into a creamy sweet juicy agave profile. My palate is different. I love complex flavors but also can navigate simple ones as well. This to me is subtly complex and leans more towards the sweet side. Very different than G4 which at still strength I find overly Peppery rigid and very sharp. Nonetheless I would recommend this expression to veteran tequila sippers and to friends who think casamigos is gourmet. ”

“Vegetal, agave forward, crisp, minerality and a slight bitterness. This is crushable. ”

Volans Blanco
“Agave forward aroma, very little ethanol, a drop or two on the tongue and it’s instantly sweet and juicy agave. Sipping or even as a shot, a balanced body, not too oily not thin and watery. Agave forward, vegetal, mineral like, has a cross between green fresh agave and the mellow cooked agave. Also personally I detect a very subtle yeast like back end that almost cleans up the burn. Also it burns just slightly. It’s almost absent. Excellent blanco. For both beginners and advanced tequila lovers. ”

LALO Tequila Blanco
“My rating scale was generous but, this blanco is one of the smoothest and most balanced I’ve had. Certain blancos hit you with a strong alcohol aroma and bite but this is beyond that. Agave forward, smooth, a sweet agave essence in the aroma, it’s dangerous, it can be enjoyed neat, in a cocktail, through shots, or however you would prefer and it’s usually found between 42-46 dollars so I would say moderate to average price for a small batch, carefully distilled blanco tequila. I got to meet Lalo himself at a bottle signing in El Paso, and he was super kind, humble and really wanted to just chat about tequila. He ultimately made me an even bigger fan as I am always searching for tequilas and importers who stick by the Mexican people, use good harvest methods and use traditional techniques when processing and producing this amazing substance. If you’re new to refined tequila buying and tasting, this is a great brand to start with. ”

Tapatio Blanco 110
“First and foremost through the narrow bottle opening. I detect heavy agave, like almost juicy blue Weber agave scent. In a glass particularly a Spirits “neat” patented glass, the nectar of this bottle opens up to a crisp agave and heavy alcohol scent however, the way it drinks is beyond anything I’ve had. Citrusy, white peppery, agave full and super Sweet and sugary with a light body it has a nice coating on the tongue, it goes down silky smooth and finishes with a slight alcohol pungency and a mellow warmth in your stomach. It’s an inviting blanco. And at 55% it’s stout so you know you’re sipping or shooting something good. ”

“Not even worth the time to describe flavor profile but if you wanna take shots at a party and try to sound like you know tequila, take this instead of casamigos. ”

La Caza Tequila Reposado
“Initial Smell to me is like that of a low proof small batch Bourbon, it has a silky mouth feel that is like that of neat room temp bourbon as well. I feel that the aging in the used American oak barrels give it a very thick bourbon essence. It has a slightly spicy bourbon taste to it as well that I feel masks a little bit of the agave flavors but overall I enjoyed how smooth it was and how fast it disappears in your throat and mouth. ”
